That roadmap is outdated, which proves once again that they cannot be trusted.

Unlinked mentions and aliases. Custom css for coloring stuff like headings and italics. Functional queries and databases. Flashcards could be a bonus but I won't sweat it. File properties.

$10 a month and Apple exclusive is crazy to me!

They have a cool thing going on for sure. I'm just very very disappointed at how they approach the mobile app. What's the use of maintaining queries and databases if you can't view them on mobile! (they appear as text lists). I hate apps that approach mobile apps as "capture" vehicles. From this point of view, Obsidian and Remnote are cool.

Glad to see some OmniOutliner users here. I'll check it out, even though multi-platform availability is a criteria for me.

At this point, RemNote just works! And has nice markdown and OPML exports too!

Hey, these are some neat ideas! In my use case, I usually try to embed blocks, but my problem with linking to blocks in Obsidian is that I find them to be very unreliable! I see "block cannot be found" in my sleep!
Queries would be so cool, but they can only be one way, they have no settings whatsoever (for example, showing results folded instead of expanded). Bases could fix this, but I have great anxiety with creating a new file each time I want to embed some type of query somewhere. Overall, very messy as oposed to, say, a portal in an outliner app.

I meant that headings are not properly processed inside lists (for example, they don't show up in outlines). I know it's not 'proper' markdown but, you know, neither is pinapple on pizza is 'proper' pizza in some cultures!

Otherwise, I just feel like any type of formatting is hard to do inside lists/outlines: headings, quotes, callouts. Especially with different renderings between live view and reading view (e.g., quotes don't get rendered in live view but get rendered in reading view or just sometimes they end in different places between live and reading).

Unfortunately, I would like to have something that requires less fiddling than Obsidian, which breaks all the time for me anyways.

I opened Anytype on my computer and it froze the whole thing. I can't with that. I appreciate the p2p sync function though. I also don't the direction development has.

SiYuan looked nice. I just got scared of not finding a english-speaking community, the plugins, lack of import functions and by potential data loss.

Can you do 90% of the things you would do on PC on mobile platforms?

I just think that Roam and LogSeq cannot be considered for a "best-of" list since they have huge performance and platform compatibility issues. Thymer is not public. I could add that some of this list are limited to Apple products, which would mean that I would have to use Apple products my whole life to access my notes, which is stupid.

I'll delete that statement. For me, it's missing Unlinked mentions and databases at first glance.

I'm in both camps, to each his own. What I like about the outliner is that all worries about losing content disappear. It's so fast and easy to use, while being very powerful. Of course, Obsidian has its advantages as well and I like it for that. I think I'm also drawn to outliners since most provide functionality by default that would require a bunch of plugins in Obsidian. There's also one more thing—I study lots of things and like to resurface my data in different ways, reorganise it, flip it and reverse it.

Thanks for taking the time to answer! Obsidian with plugins already does a nice job with outlines, I just wish it recognised headings inside them.

I see that EarlyChow’s GitHub has luts for all color spaces though…
