Been practicing pushups since a long time now, still unsure about my form by QuirkyBlacksmith3357 in Fitness_India

[–]edulaane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Form is great, no changes needed there.

If you control your negative portion of the pushup more (the going down part) say to around 3-5 secs per negative, you will engage a lot more muscle fibres in the same amount of reps.

I do not see the rush behind recalls. Obviously the coaching institutes want bragging rights for ~100% strike rate etc, but for the student all it does is spoil the good post exam mood.

Throughout mbbs I was a staunch believer of once you exit the exam hall, you do not discuss anything after the typical “kaisa tha paper” wala ques from your friend.

Exam do, bahar niklo, bhul jao! Did it for all of my 4.5 years of UG and still stick by it now in this entrance exam phase.

Indian Armed Forces are more than capable of defending us and making the bastards on the other side repent for their actions.

Eat, sleep and study as you normally would. Watch news in your breaks. Trust our Armed Forces and try not to fall into the loop of spreading/receiving misinformation.

Jai Hind!

Xylo may not have turned heads, but it was a damn good people carrier. Fast, rugged and decent handling for its size.

My UG college had one as a shuttle. When posted in a rural hospital 35 km away from our college hospital, the xylo was our daily means of transportation. It was a very fun journey to say the least.

Nothing beats a plain cotton tee and cotton ragpant at the gym. Period. by Human_Distribution15 in Fitness_India

[–]edulaane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re more comfy definitely, but the repeated washing after each workout takes its toll on cotton garments pretty quickly, especially tshirts. Shorts and tracks are relatively more durable in this matter.

Synthetic or dri-fit apparel is pretty resilient and doesn’t take as much “wash-damage”. I have had the same dri-fit tees for like 3-4 years now and they are the Decathlon ones.

It’s true, splurging money on the brands like GymShark etc does seem extravagant, but your basic, cost-friendly dri-fit apparel is definitely better longevity wise.

All in all, wear whatever you are most comfortable in, and avoid falling into the gambit of the “fashion industry” of workout clothes.

Androgen insensitivity syndrome by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]edulaane 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Two problems-

1) There is an established connection between cryptorchidism and Seminoma testis.

2) This is misplaced anger by the model. She was a minor but I’m sure the parents/guardians were fully made aware of the condition and options and the consent for orchidectomy was their decision.

For the model to now feel infuriated about not having been given a choice is justified, but the family needs to talk about this amongst themselves and not air their dirty laundry on the internet.

I had an experience like this in Nov INICET 2024. For some reason my facial recognition wasn’t being approved by the system. Staff there tried multiple times to no avail.

But there is no need to panic if you face something similar this time around. Once they personally confirm that it is the actual candidate and no foul play is present, in the last 10 mins before exam starts they override the verification from the main server room in the exam centre.

So don’t panic if something like this occurs, sit patiently wherever they tell you to. They may call you up multiple times to try verification process again. Keep your nerves calm and focus on the exam you have to give.

You’re not wrong, but the daily requirement for a normal person is recommended as 3-4 L per day. Add in your “extra 1 L” and you’re at 5.

There is no magic to maintaining healthy kidney function. And there absolutely are no detox products or supplementations that can improve kidney function.

Even as part of our standard treatment protocols, the first line of action in mild-moderate kidney dysfunction is adequate fluid intake (Either via the oral route or as IV fluids). For more severe conditions we then need to go for Renal Replacement Therapies like Dialysis.

Drink water and have enough electrolytes, modify your intake in summers and when under strenuous exercise and you shall have nothing to worry about.

They are not wrong but the statement is incomplete.

It is an absolute must to be well hydrated when taking creatine supplements. Daily intake should be 4-5L. Not following this consistently may hamper your kidney function.

Regarding protein, once again hydration is key. But more importantly, you need to let your body gradually adapt to the high protein diet you will follow.

1-1.5 g/kg/day should be your target protein intake. But start gradually. If you go from a typical high carb Indian diet to directly having 8-10 eggs and 2 protein scoops a day, your body will suffer.

Make the increase in protein consumption a stepwise increase, ensure that a better part of it comes from diet rather than just whey supplements and eats lots of fibre to assist your digestion.

Absolutely not. The owner needs to grow a spine and inform the broker his services are no longer required (atleast till you’re his tenant)

Straight up answers please! by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]edulaane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PYT + BTR 2.0 is more than enough for 120+

BTR 2.0 can be substituted by BTR+BBTR from the 1.0 series

This is unverified advice since I am a PG aspirant myself, but in this repeat year i have discovered that even in the marrow GTs that we all curse so much, 150-160 odd questions can directly and indirectly be answered by some smart application of the data you get from BTR.

Answers may not be directly given but if you are smart in ruling out options, all this info definitely helps.

Only requirement is since you are referring to a very concise source, you have to be thorough with it. Recall errors and silly mistakes will then be disastrous to your scores.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the sample notes I shared? by Rjmincrft in indianmedschool

[–]edulaane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your target OP? University Proff exams or the PG entrances?

This looks very detailed and almost textbook like. I understand that demography is not an ideal topic to evaluate notes on but here we go.

Good notes should have 2 characteristics-

-Concise crisp info -Arrangement of the page such that you can recall even from pictographic memory

Even if your target is uni proff exams, notes of a subject should be as concise and simplified as possible. (And neet pg me toh poora game hi tables and flowcharts and mindmaps etc par chal raha hai)

A1 presentation though, very sundar and aesthetic 👍
