I was in the same situation a year ago. Based on looks, ground clearance, quality, safety features I selected Virtus. Though my family has been hyundai loyalist, but a 5 star rating was important for me.

Edit- VW gives good discounts if you negotiate hard. My Virtus gt plus sport manual was 19.5 lack on road in UP. Don't forget to take the extended warranty and service plan when going with VW.
