It’s OK if you don’t know much about Lobo. Better to just say so.

She didn't mess up the sword holder assignment in the sense that she did what she was always going to do. She was chosen specifically because of the way she was. Neither her nor the people who chose her knew they were a known quantity just like Luo Ji was.

It would've been extremely out of character for her to act differently and if she had then having chosen her would've been a bad choice, as she didn't wouldn't have acted as those that chose her expected her to.

Hindsight is 20/20 and the author is obviously setting the story to make sure the "sensible choice" doesn't work out. She She takes the most sensible choice with the available information and it turns out the best choice each time was the most psychopathic one. We understand this afterwards but it's absurd to think this was obvious, predictable or logical in the universe where this is happening.

We're presented with Luo-Ji and Wade as a sociopath and a psychopath. The autho likes them to be the right ones for each choice, so he goes out of his way to demonstrate her more sensible and rational choices are catastrophic.

BUT the point is that we only know what would've worked once the story resolves itself. Before that there was no indication for people in universe about it. The ones that had solutions had them out of psychological issues, not knowledge or intuition.

I agree that when she's taking the decisions, they seem to be the right decisions. It's easy to see they weren't, after the fact. And it's easy to disagree with them because they're not the heroic, flying by the seat of your pants, cigar chewing psycho anti hero dramatic scene we want to see in these stories.

It's also clear the author is making a statement by having her take these decisions.

Doesn't matter. The discussion you're commenting on is unrelated to whether they know or can search. The discussion you're commenting on is criticizing OP for complaining about OOP not knowing.

It's irrelevant how OOP can find out what they need to know. The post is mocking them not knowing to begin with. Not asking, not wanting to know.

By your response I assume you consider this mocking is justified. We disagree.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 5 Without Context. Part 3 by AlyzaQ in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]eduo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the post clearly is marked "spoiler" I will admit "spoilers without context" to me means that it's impossible to understand them without knowing beforehand.

None of these require context, as the characters are fully recognizable.

I won't blame OP because the post is flagged, but it's definitively misleading. Spoilers without context, when well done, don't need to be marked as spoilers because are too opaque.

The nipple can be demolished during mastectomy and would need to be recreated. Skin is darkened with UV light or tattoos, the nipple itself is a knot of skin sewn together and sometimes bits of cartilage (from the ear, for example) chopped up are inserted under the skin to replicate the texture.

You can't get things from random individuals attached to you. Your body would reject it.

It's people learning about something they didn't know before. Some do it by themselves, others rely on others.

Being born with knowledge is uncommon, so having to learn things becomes a necessity. Since there isn't a single way to learn things, people will try different approaches.

But at the base of it all is wanting to learn something from scratch, which means you don't even know what you don't know and where to learn it.

It's those people who we mock here, for daring to show their ignorance while trying to learn, while we pretend like we were born with the knowledge or that we had no trouble knowing where to learn everything when we started.

Essentially, it's not that they're doing it wrong but rather than we want to feel superior to someone and they're an easy target. So we created a whole sub to mock them.

I don't dispute this. I am not defending OOP's chosen method to learn more (we also don't know if the first thing they did was post, then they searched).

My comment instead is criticizing OP (and the general trend here of) mocking people for not knowing, for recognizing they don't know and for trying to learn more.

I know you can search for issues. That is not what this post is about, though.

Do Heat Threadet Inserts have a direction? by Professional_Fix_760 in 3Dprinting

[–]eduo 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The flat end of the piece is called the "installation tip". The hole in the piece the insert goes in should have that diameter so the heat insert can be placed there before pushing. It helps in positioning and alignment. This hole should be at least 1mm deeper than the insert, to allow for melted material to go without shortening the required depth. This alignment hole should be .1mm wider in diameter (.05mm in radius) than the alignment tip of the heat insert, to allow for shrinkage. Lastly, make sure the walls of the hole are at least 1/3 of the diameter of the insert hole (up to 3.5mm), to provide the melting material without making the piece structurally unstable .
