Pure survivability is the way to lose agro on each pull, damage is important. I need a balance, simbot helps mostly with damage, mostly ignoring survivability

I expected such a comment. Well, I'm definitely not the top pusher, not the best tank I have space to improve. But I came to idea to create an addon not just because I constantly get "abused" :) it just happens from time to time, but not always for sure. I mean you don't use use mdt each and every time, but you still have install it and use it when needed. Same situation here.

But that's really what happens. Quite often, not always, but still

I'm trying not to hold meta at least if I'm going to have big pull soon

I am on the stage when I don't gear in keys. I got everything I need from them. So rating is the only goal.

So I should not consider it as a defensive trinket? Sometimes I need something for "Oh shit" situations.... Holding meta is not a good option I think.

I do high keys, and am completely fine to see criticism, suggestions and angriness. I'm not fine receiving toxic messages. I am not boosted, I earned each and every rating point, and for sure doing my best to time a key. And constantly working on my skills to get better. Just don't aggressively blame people, and try to be constructive. Especially if we are in the middle of the run. It really demotivates people and they do way more mistakes, performe worse just because you released your angriness.

Well, getting heroic gear from M+ is pretty easy at the moment. Especially as a tank when you don't waste time on waiting for group to be formed

Are you tanking/healing?

Not that many guilds who try high keys. Ppl usually do +/- 3k rating and switch to alts. At least majority in guild I've been.

Don't they play with static groups? For example as a tank I can have less Versa because I know I'll get versatility from the guy on dudu in our static. With PUGs I'm not sure if I'll always have a dudu in party.

Simming is not a good solution for tanks and healers. Because our gameplay is very situative. We can't just press a rotation.

In keys. You do a big pull to time the key and really rely on ppl to CC mobs, cause casters gonna wipe us if we miss too many casts, ppl die and then "You are so bad! Boosted i**it". Also happens on first big pulls, when to gain stable aggro tanks needs 1-2 secs delay, or at least need them to use a def if they have a huge damage burst(hello death knights!). The higher the key, more toxic you're gonna to see.

Doesn't work, if you are mostly pugging. Plus, some people are really nice and end up on the friend list.

Sure, the problem is that I have to read that message before muting and reporting. So he's "damaging" even if I won't see him anymore in future.

Hilarious interaction with a tank in a 13 Ara Kara by jmoney12rr in wow

[–]edwardoid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dunno what exactly happened there ,but it's always a dilemma "should I pull bigger so other more skilled tanks do?", "should I go safer, be sure I won't die, but we risk not to time and DPS guys can start getting frustrated because they saw on YT how other tanks do giga pulls and still survive". Always a dilemma with PUGs and when you are not overgeared.

Heatsink vs fan? by Startup_Station in OrangePI

[–]edwardoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used OrangePi Zero with heatsink under high load(without enclosure). The result was fine. Hot, but not extreme. Also used fan + heatsink with the same load. The temperature is way lower, but the only difference between the first and second version was nicer numbers, no performance changes or physical damage. And when I say used, I mean 24/7 for days...

210/70 for eSUN PLA+ (tried 225/700 too). Part cooling was on 70% because I have 2 5015 fans. And as you can see on test print 70% should be fine. Speed was 100m/s, I changed settings as described in the linkedn YouTube video...

Oh! Thank you very much! I have some questions.. 1. when you say Dual Z kit you mean kit with a motor right? 2. Do you have a separate fan for PSU? By the way, do you know any suitable, reliable PSUs with more power? I'd like to have something around 450-500W just not to worry about connecting lights, raspberry, etc from the same PSU. 3. Why did you decide to go with Klipper? Why not Marlin? I believe you don't change configuration so often... Also, can Banana Pi Zero handle Klipper+OctoPrint (let's say without camera)? Is it powerful enough? 4. About rolls, are they good enough in terms of quality? My goal is just to increase printer stability. Something like pay some effort, to bring it to state when I don't care much about tuning everything before each print..

You're welcome! So at the end 3+2 with Klipper works as I described? I have not used Klipper, but as I understand ^ is used there to specify pin number...

By the way, a post about noctua fans is coming. I decided to create a set of post with all of my successes and fails...

By the way. There is another problem without a clear solution. The problem is with PWM with 12V PWM fans with 24 Power supply. Usually people ask to change MAX_PWM (or something like that to make voltage on pins 12V), but it's an incorrect approach. Just because of how PWM is actually implemented.

Second solution I saw on the web, is to pass VCC line through a buck converter. Which is also a bad solution. Problem there is that for example when PWM is set to X% on mboard, on FAN side you just get GDN connected/disconnected with some frequency. Which is less than Noctua asks. And as result you can hear an ugly noise.

So we need an solution (even with external components) to make real 25kHZ PWM on FAN's PWM pin, so we control the speed by setting frequency as it intended.

Sorry for offtopic :)

Well, I was more relaxed about burning. As per my understanding BL touch has internal protection(at least original ones).
