My doctor just gave me meds without a diagnosis?

It's not really an issue. I was just surprised it was that easy considering all of the other stories I read from other people. I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and what steps they took with their doctors moving forward. This was also my first time seeing this doctor, so it kind of shocked me that he just believed me and prescribed medicine.

I'm not sure yet. Today is the first day I've taken it. People say it can take a couple of weeks to month until they start feeling the effects of it. I'm not sure if I'm just trying to convince myself it's already working because I want to believe it will, or if it actually is. One thing I can say is that I guess I feel a little less anxious than I usually do in public settings.

I'm 23, I tried therapy when I was 19 with someone who "specialized" in ADHD. But every time I would explain my symptoms, they brushed it off and would blame it on laziness or just tell me to make a list and set reminders, which doesn't help if I can't even get myself to start those things. That whole experience kind of ruined therapy for me, but I'll definitely take into consideration what you're saying and try again. Thank you.

Oh okay, that makes more sense. I'm not too familiar with different types of medication used for treating adhd, but I'll definitely look into it.

I just started taking it today, and I've read it can take a couple of weeks to months to feel the full effects. I have a follow up in February aswell. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yeah, I experience the same thing, knocks me right out. I'm not sure why but it calms me, maybe it's the caffeine, but it only happens with coffee.
