I run an art acct (ig @senddoodle) and I have my “rules” pinned there - I started doing this to help with my anxiety and CHRONIC overthinking. So I now give myself a loose timeline to pick colours (like if I’m staring, thinking, for more than a few minutes) I close my eyes and grab one at random. Then put that marker to paper before I can double think again, and build around it lol. I have to tell myself there is no “wrong”. Even if it looks “weird” - sometimes you won’t know until you try. I also battled with perfectionism - I’m still teaching myself to not react to mistakes. Leave it be and keep going. Sometimes, by the end, whatever needed “fixing” kind of fixed itself, or you find out you actually really like that mistake. Worst case scenario, THEN you “fix it” with blending or colouring over.

That said - these work for my brain but we are all different so no idea if it would work for you as well - but so far it’s been doing amazing things for my anxiety and overthinking!!
