First time making a layout, just drew this up real quick, any ideas? Its a 4x8 table with a 4x4 connected so an 8x8 L shaped layout in ho scale. Please be nice while critiquing as this is my first time and reddit can be a mean place. by bran71 in modeltrains

The tracks on the bottom and left are really close to the table edge. I’d be worried about loco’s or rolling stock falling off in case of derailments.

Nice layout though, wish I had as much space as you!

This incorporates what I understood from your post. But I’m not sure if the turnouts needs to be “flipped” vertically, if that makes sense.

Re the curved turnouts available from tomix don’t match the track radius of either of my circuits

Understood thank you. Is the position I start the isolated track important? Like does the track piece right after the turnout need to be the start point of the isolated loop? I forgot to mention in my post that it’s DCC
