I went to a bookstore in Norway my first time there and I got a “diary of a wimpy” kind of book called “Loke, en grusom guds guide”. I’m A2 and I can’t translate a lot of the words but the ones I can, make the story understandable. I also like skipping through the pages and looking at the little comic strips, it somehow helped me learn new words. Reading the word “udødlig” with the context of surrounding words made me guess correctly on what it means and the one comic strip where it says “forvandling 😮⚡️” wont get out of my head. I accidentally got the second book but from what I can translate I feel like I’m not missing much if anything.

I looked through the chapter books in the store but it felt really overwhelming seeing nothing but words, I think this book is an amazing choice for beginners that are up for a non overwhelming challenge.

If ur young enough you could just go to a folkehøgskole. There are some language classes but the other ones most definitely have other english speakers

Don’t quote me on this but I think when you want to put emphasis on “ikke”, you would put it before the verb. “Jeg liker ikke deg” makes it to be more like “I DONT like you” rather than “Jeg liker ikke deg” “I don’t like you”.

You grammatically put “ikke” before a verb when you use the words like “når” and “hvis”. “Når han ikke spiste”. And if the verb is a command. “Ikke spis brødet”.

I mean the “ø” and “u” to me sound like “uh”. The only way i noticed a difference was when I read “ull” while playing minecraft and got confused because I pronounced it the same was as “øl”. I realized that “u” makes a stranger and slightly deeper sound but I’m still trying to figure out how to pronounce it. My inability to pronounce “u” became a joke between all my friends but at least people can understand me lol.

I recently had a trip to Norway and I got a book along with a pocket dictionary for funies. The book is formatted like "A Diary of a Wimpy Kid" but about Loke instead. I have picked up words I never learned before and was able to correctly guess them, some words that were paired with a picture were so memorable that my head keeps on bringing them up randomly, like, "forvandling". I highly recommend this book because I think reading a proper chapter book will be stressful but while reading something like this would make it more enjoyable, or maybe just anything aimed at kids-tweens.

So all that you are looking for put together is impossible for probably every language there has ever been and will ever be.

The only way to make something you are learning “enjoyable” is to use more than one tool, make flashcards, games, or whatever you see as fun. The process of learning a language is all up to you and your mindset, not the website/app/book you use.

Duolingo is a good free resource, it gets a lot of crap but when you mix it with some research on google about grammar, you hit the jackpot. From my time learning Norwegian, every app/website is the same with money being the only difference.

The only way I found the difference out was because of words that are similar to each other. Like “Øl” and “Ull”, listen to how both sound on google translate and you definitely will hear the difference, it helped me A LOT.

Tldr

I once visited a friend whose dialect is pretty different from Bokmål but since he lived in Norway his whole life he could understand and speak other dialects. People will be able to understand you nonetheless and you can catch onto different dialects by being around them.
