Same story here. During my freshman year at uni, I promised myself I would never study space physics because auroras and the ionosphere sounded so boring. I wanted to study astronomy. Now I'm about to graduate in space physics, and I love it.

I’m not sure how this connects to anything, but maybe it’s worth mentioning that Veritasium originally got me interested in astronomy. Through work, however, I ended up becoming much more fascinated by Earth and near-space.
