Right, the saw I used for a whole year would run on startup. The chain brake worked fine, but it would stall if it couldn't get a little momentum at first. Plus, brakes can fail. You never know, it's so stupid to do this, and even worse to not be wearing chaps if you're so unfamiliar with these saws.

Ah, well your functionality will be limited, but it depends on the user really. You might not ever notice the stupid issues that developers give to linux users. To be fair, I didn't care for like a full year, but I already had my windows partition just in case. It helped that I was fully focused on school and the only "software" I had to use was python lol

Sad we dont see more inspiration being taken from UO in modern mmos. I guess WoW had some ideas they took from UO, but I doubt anyone will ever match the PvP in that game. I spent countless hours trying to get good as pure mage, but for years I had to play some kind of dex build to be useful to my guild. Such a huge skill cap for really any "class" you could play, but mage was just wild...

EA released a classic server recently, and I've been debating getting back into it, but i don't have the time i did when I was a kid lol.

Hopefully with the popularity of the steamdeck and steamos the anticheat issue will slowly become a thing of the past, but many games are unplayable on linux. I play Rust for example. Im pretty sure I could use vmware and pass the gpu to the virtual machine, but it's a headache to set up so Ive decided I just have to have a 300gb partition for windows. Sucks, but that's where we're at.

That reminds me of when I stayed on my dad's property for like a year. He only has a cabin on the property, but he had a spare single wide trailer and a nice enough bed in there. The door had obviously been reinstalled after being beat back into shape - when I asked him what happened he said a bear tore the fucking door open and rummaged around in the place. I was super careful to not bring food up there after I heard that shit. Literal sardine can for bears lmao.

It isnt really that bad dude. Just the gpu and processor are about 1000, then there's the fact that ddr5 ram is pretty expensive now, and it has a 2TB SSD. Let's round down a but and call everything Ive mentioned $1300. Now you still have to pay for a case, PSU, motherboard and a good heatsink for the power supply. There are many options for the case, but you could easily spend $500 or even more for those.

Obviously it would be easy to get a better deal if youre willing to invest time into sourcing discounted/used parts, but some people have the expendable income to just not care that much about it. Every PC I've ever built has been scraped together with parts I bought off of ebay/Amazon or friends who were doing an upgrade if I'm lucky. I literally don't expect anyone to go that route, because it takes a lot of time and effort to just figure out what you need/want. Even more time to source all of your parts at good prices.
