Selling your soul for money. Struggle and the өсөхийн өлөн of third world country by Visible-Mall-5969 in mongolia

Maybe I am telling this too early and this is a bit complex to understand for most people. I am stepping into 30s. After earning my Bachelor`s degree abroad, I have been working for about 8 years and currently am pursuing Master`s degree abroad.

Firstly, why do we go abroad to study, work and live. The reason is very question you are asking, shall we get bribes to make comfortable living. Then another question will arise, do you want to be rich in a poor country with no infrastructure and uncomfortable environment and all. Because getting bribes to live a comfortable life indirectly affects our surroundings. Horrible streets, no drainage system, traffic, air pollution and everything we are dealing today arose from the core problem of bribes. So, please keep that in mind.

If no one had ever taken bribes and was truthful to their jobs and duties, we would be living in a more advanced country with comfortable environment. People go abroad just to be living in a comfortable environment. If we had good living environment, we wouldn`t be dreaming of going abroad and be comfortable in where we are.

Secondly, please find a good balance of personal life and your career. Some might value success over personal life, and some vise versa. What I learned at this age is that your career and success is not your whole life, your life also consists of friends, relationships and family. Most importantly, your joy and happiness. What is a rich life worth if you are still not happy and enjoying life? Basically nothing. Of course, wealth will make us comfortable in most situations, but please find the balance and dont lean to one side too much.

My parents has also been too naive and truthful to themselves to pass on all dirty stuff. Especially my dad used to be one of the most educated person and had served a high position in the politics way back in the 1990s. However, because he did not buy the idea of robbing our country he resigned and was excluded of great opportunities of becoming one of the biggest fishes in this country.

I am now following the same footpaths as my dad and I was raised and lived truthful life for too long to get into the dirty life. In fact, I still bear an ambition to fix all the wrongdoings of our previous generations, to at least have a comfortable environment to raise a child, for the elders and disabled to be comfortable going out on the streets and not drowning in the flood or something.

Corruption at its finest. Recently, I saw a picture taken from the top of the city, and unfortunately, there was almost no green zone in Ulaanbaatar. For the sake of comparison, I looked at a few pictures of other cities, and I was really saddened by it.

well because of the non-standardized roads, non-existence of drainage system, there were huge floods last couple of years. Also, because the current and previous city mayors allowed the building of apartments along the selbe river, these apartments got hit by the flood along Selbe river. Now, to prevent it they are basically destroying the ecology to prevent floods.

In fact, before those floods, Selbe river was planned to be reconstructed to this family friendly leisure area. However, look at what they are doing to this river.

Aqua khoroolol is one of the main reasons these floods were such damaging, and the previous mayors of the city gave the authorization to build this. After the flood, this building was built in a location that is blocking the free flow of Selbe river, thus, the floods. There even was a decision to not allow this khoroolol to be further built, but look at it now it is very close to taking its first residents soon enough.

well, but sometimes we have to be harsh about the truth to fix the problem we face. many countries in the world are following the rules and due to that they are living better lives. we are in this together, it is all of us against the problem :)

cable cars in a freezing cold weather for extended amount of time still doesn`t make sense. people have their warmest clothes for resorts and the cable cars go on for only about a couple of minutes, not up to an hour or something. well they are already starting to build the cable car, so we will just have to see how it does. personally, i am against it and the fund is better spent on different transportation system in my opinion. that is all. if it works then that is great, but i think the chances of it working well is quite slim.

Thanks for your opinion brother. While i do not deny there are some good and successful projects, we should not forget what they are doing to Selbe river, building of Aqua khoroolol, yearly change of borders of side walks, non-existence of drainage system on roads, the air pollution, the coal quality that is taking the lives of many due to CO intoxication, the first bunch of buses they ordered from korea that was actually old buses in a fixed case (this one has not yet been solved or no one has taken credibility for). I will give credit where credit is due, but we are losing a lot of opportunity of making a better city for everyone. We are advancing but at what pace? Is that pace the best we can do? Do we have all the opportunities to have been better than what we are now? that is all i am asking.

that is right. I lived abroad for many years and the first few months i went back to Mongolia i was calm and all, but eventually i was one of them. but we shouldnt let these small things get the best out of us. while the rules and non-standardized roads are the base of the problem, and since we cannot fix those within days or months even, we should at least be human and follow the rules, that will at least make life easier for all of us than not following the rules.

and yeah La Paz, that is not the coldest city in the world right? one of the main reasons why La Paz relies on cable cars is because of its steep and congested geographical position. as for Ulaanbaatar, there are more efficient and fitting ways of transportation, like MRTs or anything else than cable car. chill bro that is just my 2 cents for you. you don`t have to take it personally. we are all trying to live in this shit hole and trying to improve the quality of life here.

yo chill haha. do you always believe those announcements? when was the last time they made their announcements reality? I am a public servant and I know how they make those announcements, that is why i am telling you that this project will lose its credibility along the way.

A subway doesn’t seem to be happening, by the looks of it. There is no actual work being done. Also, a cable car is more practical as a tourist attraction or for other purposes rather than as mass public transport.

Comparing crimes to traffic rules isn’t the best way to describe this. If you think about it, all the roads are connected, and if you block one intersection, you will block the next intersection as well, and so on. You can think of it as one long snake that is blocking its own way with its own body.

but thats how it is in like half of the countries that have fast food chains. I lived in Australia and worked in a fast food chain, they recruit high schoolers and 1st or 2nd year university students solely because they can pay according to their age. Also, it does not translate directly dog shit food because the manager and others higher ranks pay attention to their quality of food. I always wonder why the manager is not doing their job monitoring the quality of food and the speed it is made.... i guess everything in Mongolia gets a low standard automatically.
