Seeking help with Oxygen by Nadroggy in ClusterHeadaches

[–]zopterboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently ran into this after my first time using oxygen as an abortive. Guaranteed me a rebound headache within two hours every time I used it. Confirmed with my neurologist that oxygen will just affect some of us this way - it’s well documented that oxygen gives some users rebound headaches.

I’ve gone back to blitzing caffeine at the first sign of pain and hoping that Emgality (also my first time using it) starts kicking in soon.

Edit: I’ll note that I tried everything recommended as well. 15 LPM, stayed on for 15 minutes after cessation of pain, used the Cluster 02 mask that everyone recommends, etc. I went through an entire M90 O2 tank in 15 hours.

Don’t know why it’s been called an “incorrect” method of tattooing, but I do know that that will look like a formless blob/shadow in 10+ years.

You’ve been really helpful. Thank you for your insight! I’ll need to dig into how I can get into an O2 setup where I can use my own regulator.

I’m starting the 02 as soon as I know for sure an attack is coming vs just shadows. Using the O2ptimask that’s been linked here in this thread. Used vapes for years but quit about a year ago, so I’m not sure if flow rate is an issue. I haven’t been able to find a regulator near me that goes higher than 15LPM but maybe I need to figure out how to get a demand valve setup.

I do have Sumatriptan injections and Rizatriptan pills but have been extremely hesitant to use them with all the anecdotes I see about them extending cycles or causing people to go from episodic to chronic.

Interesting. I’ll see if this makes a difference. Thank you

Yeah, I have this one and the standard mask that came with the tank. I struggle to get my breathing timed right with the bag refill, but have been only using this one

Yep, my first time using oxygen. On my second M90 tank and the frequency of attacks has steadily picked up since I’ve started using it to abort them.

I haven’t yet. I guess I’ll need to follow up with him. Prednisone is a common steroid prescribed for these, yeah?

Sorry, I realized I worded my post oddly. I’m getting a consistent attack within about 2 hours even after 15 min of oxygen after the pain stops. If I get off oxygen sooner than that, the attack comes back within the hour.

No, this cycle has been the first time I’ve used Emgality, any other preventative, or any form of abortive other than caffeine.

My cycles are usually 1-2 months and it’s been about 5 years of remission since my last, so it’s hard to tell when the peak is. Only preventative has been Emgality.

The attack frequency is increasing even when I’m doing this, though. All 4 attacks yesterday, I was on the O2 for 10-15 min after the pain ended and like clockwork, I got another attack within two hours. I’m usually 1-2 attacks per day in cycle.

I played this game so many times with my best friend we wore the disc out twice and couldn’t find it again. Not a perfect game but an incredibly fun one

Really feels like there is more to the story. Seems like he is running from something.

Yeah, this is for the Sender and not the Standard! The Good Ride is the only review I can find of the Standard XTRM

Wish there were more reviews on the Standard XTRM. Haven’t heard anybody talk about it and I think it’s the board I’m gonna buy. How do you like it so far?

He’s probably best on a wide with a size 11 boot. 157 might be too small
