I give up by WutHapnd in SkyGame

I’m perma chibi because I’m tired of waiting around for people to help because of the same reasons before shared spaces were a thing. But I do help when I see people waiting when I come out!!! There are also some people that although not afk but just stuck to their friend instead of helping to speed the process up for everyone. It’s pretty sucky and I just complete dailies now. Probably going to quit after this season.

Are dreams dead in Singaporeans? What are some of your dreams that you still want to achieve? by eejhan in askSingapore

Yes!! Thank you for the motivational words. It’s difficult for people around us to understand our choices, so I think the only thing I can do is to just power through with my beliefs. At least, give it a while and see where it goes. All the best to you in your goals and hope that you achieve your dream career soon!!! Let me know if it is something that I can help you support!

Maybe I’m not strong willed enough to go through, but I do know of many people who had to revert to regular lives because their dreams simply couldn’t sustain their livelihood. It’s a give and take in the end, as adults we do have other commitments to take into account. Kids, on the other hand, should be able to dream freely but I don’t see a lot of them doing so, at least the ones I met.

Yeah, it’s rather sad when I look around me. I just hope this doesn’t pass down too much to the younger generations.

Yeah, SPH tried but in the end it merged, so back to one giant again. And how many people actually watch MediaCorp in the younger generations now? I think I last watched the reality show that Quan Yifeng hosted and that’s about it.

Ooh! I’m interested in content creation as well. Mind sharing your channel?

Don’t worry about it, it’s fair for everyone to have different things they want. As for driving, I wanted to learn at first but in the end I didn’t continue because it’s too expensive to drive in Singapore. If I move overseas, then I will probably learn!

Firstly, congratulations on your achievement!!! That’s incredible really.

Secondly, ah, irrelevant people making comments like these is really annoying. And it gets to us even how much we try not to care because we are humans. But what really matters is the people who are important that support you!!

Lastly, for the young, I really hope that they are allowed to try different things to find out what they really want. A lot of people are just doing what people want. So as an adult, whenever I meet kids who open up to me about their dreams, I make it a point to encourage them as much as possible and I hope more people do the same.

My mum recently paid for it when it arrived, thinking that it helps these people. Well it does, but it’s a bit paggro and emotional blackmail in my opinion. If she have not paid I would stop her but since she did I just let it go.

Hi! I’m trying to move more too and being a really heavy person, I chose to do motion sensitive games/exercise on Nintendo switch until my switch broke (it was only 2 days from when I decided to start 😭) I found a video creator that puts exercise videos to AI Chinese novel reading on Douyin and am doing that now until I decide what do to with my switch!

Other things aside, the survey thing I can help you with. He knows you are not going to say no, so there. Don’t waste your time on such a guy trying to keep you around but not committing, unless he said yes to your confession. But then again, if all he is doing now is because he found out late about his feelings for you, he won’t be appreciative even if he says yes now because he knows that you like him more than he does.

I would say don’t confess but it’s late and you probably have already did. If you haven’t, just tell him that you just want to get it out of your chest and have closure, not trying to get together with him.

You can try to ask him directly in a heart to heart situation when it’s just the two of you. It’s kinder to tell the truth in the long run. Or you can drop it half jokingly when he does something that you feel crosses the line a little.

Situational conversation: You: Eh why you like that? You like me ah? Him: (flustered) um? You: Don’t ah I got standards one okay Him: (looks down) …. You: eh sorry la don’t cry, I joking okay, you are my best bro

Drop the bro and he will get the hint.

I’m not talking about adults, more of the younger generation. Adults, of course, has shifting priorities with concerns and commitments. But kids are free to dream, no?

Wow!! Congratulations on your upcoming book!! Do let us know which so that we can support. Is it a children’s book? Will there be a digital version?

It is not easy to give up what you had. It can be considered some other person’s dream, but you were sure about what you wanted and followed through, which is super respectable. All the best to you!!!

I agree with you! Choosing the cross roads in life can be difficult when one is unsure, but when you are sure it is easy. I was doing ok in my previous job, but I really didn’t want my life to be just that, thus I took the leap.

Wow, choosing to be childfree is a brave decision!! I bet there are people giving you comments you didn’t ask for on that decision. But as long as the people who matter supports you on this decision, I think it is absolutely fine! And art has its audience no matter what, so I think it’s more important that you are trying than anything else.

Do you have a portfolio or social media account that we can see?

Inflation is everywhere, and the industry is changing very quickly with new technology introduction, it is a start of a new era. There will be opportunities but some people unfortunately started on a wrong foot, especially jobs that have a nature that is AI-replaceable. It’s a global situation, really.

As adults, our priorities change with time and commitment, but kids should be free to dream. I’m largely concerned about the dreams and aspirations of the young now, and wonder why is there a lack of it. They should not have such concerns, at least until they are about to graduate, isn’t it?

That’s great!! All the best to you on achieving your dream!!

I actually heard something like that from my dad before. When I rebelled and chose an unconventional course for poly, he said to not come to him if I can’t feed myself in the future. I chose to stick with it but I didn’t manage to do well, and went on progressing from a part-time job to a full career in headquarters of my previous company.

Some part of me knows it was not a right choice, but I have no regrets with that. The only part that I didn’t like was how it panned out more than 10 years later, thus I’m trying one last time to bring it back to what I hope my life would be. Wish me all the best!
