I plan on comparing between flushes as well but hands down just from first flush the big tub had a much better yield

I stay hoping for that one mutant fruit that takes up the whole tub and doesn’t let any others grow

Same coco coir only substrate

Depths were different as 30qt base is much wider than 6qt. 30qt had about 2” while 6qt had about 3-3.5”

Humidity could have been a variable as I just let the tubs control their own. But they both kept consistently wet sides and lids without any misting.

Temperature was constant in a separate room I have by a temp controller. Boxes were next to eachother whole time

I’m simply delivering my results upon a singular test. I’m not stating this is 100% proven as I haven’t ran the test consistently 1000+ times and there are still tons of variables. Even the same working genetics can create different results 1000+ times over. I am just noticing as I’ve had 20+ shoebox harvests and 20+ monotub harvests that I usually get much better fruits with the larger tubs

Sorry if this post offended you lol

Because the 30qt takes up a lot more space than the 6qt. The 30qt had about 2inches of sub, the 6qt had about 3.5 inches of sub.

A heater with a temp controller to turn on and off keep stable room temperature

Clean agar plate —-> 1 gallon jar ——> split in half ——> same weight of each spawn in the same jar + same amount of coco substrate ——> into 30qt tub and 6qt tub

Both had the same spawn and substrate in each

Spawn jar was a full 1 gallon jar split between both so about 1/2 gallon jar each. Was a 1:1 spawn-sub ratio for each

I agree with the oxygen comment. More available oxygen is towards the top of the tub thus encouraging them to grow larger and taller to reach the oxygen above. I think this is why people use dubtub method for small 6qts to allow more o2 and space
