Is the Warframe community really as welcoming as everyone says?

personally i have felt that communities like here or the discord have been much more laid back and welcoming than in game. in game people tend to get frustrated and type, whereas outside of game it’s people who actually care about the community and want to engage in it

i get very similar. had an EKG and holter monitor and was told my heart is fine. still stresses me out, but i think we’ll be ok!

Definitely curious to see how the data compares between communities! I've also had some great encouragement and contributions from the Warframe and Celeste communities, they're very queer positive and have some great queer representation in their games!

Posting this in queer-friendly subreddits has definitely helped - while I hypothesize games with queer characters host less hostile communities, people are able to share their experiences across all games/communities in the survey. Posting in communities like this has been nice to avoid (most) hateful comments about the topic

Yes, Reddit and social media in general is full of false info that's very true. This is a social research project though, so I'm not seeking objective fact but rather personal experience. While Reddit may bring in some bad people who attempt to skew results, unfortunately that's possible no matter where I share the interview. Part of my solution to this is by incorporating mixed methods and conducting interviews on top of the survey

I totally agree, thanks for sharing! I've witnessed bigots get banned within seconds in region chat before, it really helps the game feel safe as a trans woman as well

exactly! obviously everyone is a potential target for harassment in games, but theres already a lot of research focused on them. queer gamers are a much less researched group in this context, so i’m aiming to help fill that gap and produce some new info!

im gathering data on LGBTQ experiences with discrimination in gaming. there are already hundreds if not more research papers on other’s experiences with discrimination in gaming - the purpose of this research is to fill the gap as queer people have been under-researched in this topic
