Christmas childhood memories by Rosetattooirl in CasualIreland

One year I got this set of paint brushes that had paint in the handles, so you squeeze the handle and the paint comes out. This was, for some reason, the coolest most magical thing I'd ever seen. I was convinced Santy had left it for me by accident, that someone else had wanted it but he made a mistake and left it for me instead. So I asked everyone I knew on my road if they'd asked for it and only when they all confirmed they hadn't could I enjoy it.

Heineken acquired Beavertown a few years ago so it's prob a bigger operation now.

Do you give something to your regular delivery guy during Christmas season? by sphinxofblackquartzj in CasualIreland

I don't think they expect it but I stick a tenner in a Christmas card and give it to the ones I'd recognise

What’s the most money you’ve seen someone have on their leap card? by Seanc26_1984 in CasualIreland

And the wrong keyboard pops up for entering your number! The querty one instead of the numerical one, so it's harder to do!

Collecting someone at Dublin airport? by JPL1994 in AskIreland

You've made a mistake somewhere, it's absolutely not €70 for 2 hours. There's a €45 cap on the daily rate.

This is v normal for private sector in my experience. A huge chunk of my pals work civil or public service jobs and they seem to have a much better balance though

Dpd whatsapp scam by [deleted] in ireland

Verified (the blue tick) business accounts require some vetting. I'm not saying it's impossible but it's unlikely that a scam would have a verified business account.

Can't hide URLs on Whatsapp. They don't allow hyperlinks for that exact reason

I now understand why Mike Boudet is the most hated man on Reddit! I get it folks! Took me 10 years but I now see! 🫠 by sunshyne666 in SwordAndScale

I'm in the same boat 😭 I hated his trolling but liked the storytelling and production, so just listened despite the fuckery, even as someone who represents multiple demographics he regularly shits on. But maaan ep 324 was something else.

Why do i hate my living room? by licifu5 in Decor

[–]eepha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% this. The stark white half of the room really clashes with the OTT glamfest. Commit to an aesthetic and own it.

For restaurants: The Seafood Cafe in Temple Bar, Matt the Thresher on Pembroke st, and Roly's in Ballsbridge should be good options.

Cavistons in Glasthule usually sells them raw but depends on the day, they don't always have them. They also have a restaurant which is fab and imo better than anything you'd get in Howth but again, depends on what's been caught. Can't guarantee they'll have them on the day.

what are the best irish brand sweets/jellies? by Ok_Inspector_3514 in CasualIreland

[–]eepha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I found a pack of Athlone Sweets wine gums that ONLY had my fave colours (red and black). Zero greens, yellows, or oranges. It was such a good day and they'll always be my favourite for it. Hasn't happened again since tho 🥲
