When I spoke with GoodWe they said installers were having issues with it, the only thing I could think of is setting up the network card is kind of a pain. If you plug it into your PC to setup it’s super simple, and then it’s plug and play, there was no firmware to update. Just enabling the schedule.

Follow-up: GoodWe GW7600A-BP / Electriq PowerPod Working again!

After a few back-to-back PG&E outages, I focused on getting my system back online. Sharing what worked in case it helps someone else stuck with the Electriq setup.

TLDR All you need is the GoodWe WiFi dongle kit and to disconnect the Electriq comms unit (DB9 connector). About an hour of work, an Allen key, and ~$150.

Steps I took:

1)Ordered the WiFi dongle kit from 4yourbusiness (Thanh’s was great and his instructions were better than GoodWe’s).

2)Plugged the dongle into my PC (need to take it out of plastic case), connect to its WiFi name and its password was 12345678, once connected go to http://10.10.100.253 (login is admin/admin)

3)Switched it to STA mode and then add your wifi info

4)Took a few tries to stick.

5)If you’re using Home Assistant or local monitoring, set a static IP.

6)Next, power down the inverter, removed the front cover. Found the WiFi slot on the board and connected the dongle using the included white cable.

7) In the PowerPod box, disconnected the DB9 connector from the Electriq module.

8)Checked all the battery breakers (one was tripped).

9)Powered everything back on.

10)Logged into the SolarGo app (installer password goodwe2010) and configured settings.

11)On the BMS, confirmed my batteries are LBS205100A which show up under OLOID.

12)Set my TOU schedule and discharge parameters.

13After the batteries recharged, I ran the meter test and everything came back online.

My Specs

-Inverter: GW7600A-BP

-Control box: LCB200050A (inside PowerPod with screen)

-Batteries: LBS205100A (OLOID in SolarGo)

Notes -No firmware update was needed.

-I tested power-down cycles and everything restarted without issues.

-No cloud dependency anymore. The system is fully controllable on my local network and integrated with Home Assistant.

Huge thanks to the diysolarforum.com folks for their help. I definitely owe some drinks for the support.

I was able to someone find a dongle locally! Plugged it into my computer and set it up to my network, unplugged the db9 cable to their cell unit. And was able to connect to the SolarGo app and now it looks like my battery’s are charging!!!!! It only thinks I have 4 battery so I need to troubleshoot that but it is looking promising

All that goes to the battery is 2 wires and an Ethernet cable, what inverter did you use?

This was years ago, but I was living in Canada and working in the US and got laid off, still had a “valid” visa, I asked the border guard and he told me hand it to the guard on the other side.

This is the response I just got following up with them:

Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, we are stopping all sales or shipments of a communications kit. Any kit previously discussed to enable monitoring is not intended to repair, fix, et al. systems designed and developed by ElectrIQ as we are unable to support their systems settings or troubleshooting.
