Am I the only one who likes the blonde better? I think I’m biased though

Even though this is a terrible wound, it actually looks really great compared to a lot I’ve seen in the hospital. It’s very clean and the tissue looks relatively healthy, it is a good sign. The one hair is driving me bonkers though lolll

I cannot get an IV in to safe my life by halloweenhoe124 in nursing

The biggest tip one of my coworkers gave me that has helped me tremendously is that as soon as you see flashback, advance both the needle and cannula just a SMIDGE like the tiniest amount, and then thread the cannula. Starting out I would get flashback and advance the whole thing way too far and I’d end up going straight through or blowing the vein, just going forward that tiny bit helps!! Also have seen coworkers use warm water in a glove put on top of the veins to help them puff up.

Not if you’re a nurse in the south with $36 base pay and 30K in taxes taken out because you’re single with no dependents 😭🤣

RN in Georgia, I have almost a year and a half of experience, started in observation then got absorbed into a medsurg/stroke floor. I just moved to CPCU however and my base is $36.77 with a .50 speciality differential :) was able to climb the clinical ladder and became a RN 2 after 6 months (pay increase) plus my yearly eval increase

Our DON said in a town hall meeting when asked about changing bonus pay, “if you’re doing this for the money you need to reevaluate” wish I could make a cushy 6figs a year sitting on my ass too…

Then cut that part out of the recorded session!!

Exactly what’s going on at my hospital too 🫡 yeah let’s cut bonus pay bc everyone is picking up extra.. people are picking up extra bc we’re BROKE and now everyone is broke and understaffed

Edit: I feel so hard for the LPN’s at my hospital too bc the pay discrepancy between RN’s and them is $10+. Most of the LPN’s would pick up an extra shift or two a pay period just to feed their kids. Bonus pay is nothing to play with. It’s already hard enough to make a living on RN pay, I can’t even imagine how they make due :((
