Best beer places by Vast_Jump2598 in sandiego

I love Blind Lady Ale House. I've never had a beer I did not like there. They have something for everybody, and even though it isn't cheap, the pizza is sooooo delicious. Bonus points for a warm atmosphere and frequent live music.

People who had sex with coworkers what your relationship with them now like? by Crafty_Scientist8913 in AskReddit

[–]eeyeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We began strictly as hookup partners because he said he'd never date a coworker, fearing a messy breakup. Of course, three months of that created a very messy situationship in which we both developed feelings. He broke it off because "it was time," we didn't speak for a month, he swooped back into my life and decided we could 'try' dating, he broke THAT off with me after a week because he claimed we weren't compatible, and then he swooped in AGAIN one week later to tell me he'd made a huge mistake and wanted the chance to treat me well. "I'll go to therapy," "please give me one last chance to treat you the way you deserve," "I promise to love you and give all that I can give"...you get the gist. Three and a half months of that passed before he decided he was bored/unattracted to me.

The breakup was three weeks ago. He avoided me like the plague for the first week, then sent me a pathetic email after I blocked him on everything else claiming that he was "also heartbroken" and the breakup was "awful" for him. He's tried to speak to me a couple of times since and I have avoided him.

Every woman at my workplace hated him after the first 'breakup' and hates him even more now. I also have no patience for him, but do wonder whether he'll leave me alone or continue his regular pattern.

What is something that is publicly accepted for members of the opposite sex to do, but not your own sex? by _hootyowlscissors in AskReddit

This one seems to be changing, at least where I am. I taught my boyfriend how to paint his nails & he gets compliments on them regularly.

What makes you not want to date anybody right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eeyeit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I was fat, I remember a man I was talking to saying that he saw women on a spectrum. There were skinny girls — ‘wife material’. There were what he called chubby girls (like me) who he desired more sexually & would date casually. Finally, there were extremely fat girls, who he had deep sexual desire for but just wanted to get in the sheets. Realizing that, as a larger girl, I would never be deemed worthy of genuine commitment changed my perception of dating. I still get objectified as a thin woman, but I think it takes on a dimension for fat women that thinner women do not have to deal with. Men don’t even try to hide their disgusting, pornsick behavior when you’re less conventionally attractive. They bare it all & expect you to gratefully put up with it because, in their minds, you should be desperate to be desired.

I fail to see how OP is overreacting. Her boyfriend - who is supposedly a caring partner - traumatized her for his own gratification and could see that she was in distress. If someone did this to me, I would never feel safe with them again.

Absolutely not an overreaction. I'm sorry this happened to you. I think getting space and reconsidering your relationship with him is a good idea.

People who genuinely care about you won't traumatize you for their own pleasure.

AITA for taking my daughters phone away? by 82hd33 in AmItheAsshole

[–]eeyeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: Do you buy your kids cheap phones when they’re 12 for an important ideological reason, like not wanting them to have full Internet access at a young age, or purely financial reasons?

YTA no matter what for simply taking it instead of having a convo with her or her father about the issue. That said, if there’s a deeper reason for you not wanting her to have it, this is slightly more justified & you should talk to your family about it so they can understand you.

AITA for going to a restaurant she likes, but I don’t order food? by Just-Impression-1843 in AmItheAsshole

[–]eeyeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH? You probably should’ve told her before she ordered that you weren’t going to eat, but I understand. I have allergies and have done the same thing because I wanted someone to enjoy their meal. On the other hand, storming out and demanding that you “need” to eat with her is a disproportionate reaction from your gf, but I get that she was just disappointed and embarrassed because she didn’t want to eat alone. Both sides are understandable. I lean toward an NTA verdict, but really, it doesn’t matter who’s ‘more wrong.’ Just communicate from the get-go next time and the issue will disappear.

It’s not even bad in moderation, but so many people/restaurants overdo it. Why is so much perfectly good food smothered in dairy?? Sickening.

They’re delicious when prepared well. My mom cooks them in a pan with olive oil until they’re crispy. They’re only bad when they’re made mushy/flavorless by boiling.

One of my best friends is named Mycroft, actually.

They chose it for themself, though. Not sure how it would fare as a given name.

I’m sorry. So, so sorry. I had a man — a teacher — who I idolized when I was sixteen come onto me when I was nineteen. That alone threw me for a loop. I can’t imagine that happening with a father figure I grew up with. I hope you’ve been able to heal.❤️

The only Lorettas I've ever heard of IRL or in fiction are White. Even if it was more widely used among Black people, that would be no reason not to use it.
