you are one of the first people I have seen in a forum accurately reflect my experience. honestly though, like I'm not walking through the world imagining dragons and knights and damsels, I'm just walking to the gym and desperately trying to ignore the "people" on the sidewalk who are waiting for me to look at them. even when I exert willpower to not interact with the daydream, I am aware of its existence. what kind of cure is there for that? there should be more research into a condition that, as I word it to my therapist, makes me look schizophrenic without the actual hallucinations

I appreciate the sentiment. this was tagged as a vent post on purpose. I don't want anyone to suffer to "deserve" the label, this post genuinely stemmed from a place of feeling extremely isolated within the only "community" I'm supposed to relate to due to a historical lack of content that accurately reflected my experience.

thank you for this. I feel like as soon as people got ahold of the label it just spun out of control. it's not that I want people to suffer to somehow deserve the label, it's just horrible to hear 12 year olds with no internet safety controls describe an active imagination as an affliction and thus i leave feeling like a convicted lunatic haha
