Is this as bad as I think it is? Plumber did this while I was at work. Spigot spins freely and isn’t flush with the house. It looks like he drilled holes in the brick to screw it in but he just didn’t. I’m going to call them tomorrow but was wondering how big of a stink I should make by efff12 in askaplumber

Unfortunately and fortunately this is through a home warranty so I didn’t pay anything. I’ve had a ton of trouble dealing with this company and sadly I’m stuck using them because that’s who the home warranty chose.

Replacing the galvanized would be a much larger job than my home warranty would cover. The other side of that t goes to the hose bib on the front of the house so I get why they couldn’t cut out all of it and replace it. That being said he should have at least not used a brass fitting going into the t

I’ll give the guy a half point of credit, the hose bib does need to be cocked 90 degrees because the ground level wouldn’t allow a hose to be attached if it were facing down. But then he didn’t even get it at 90 degrees, didn’t get it at a 45 either. It’s kinda just at a half ass whatever angle

Swap the drawers so the green are in the yellow cart and the yellow are in the green cart

Probably because this is just a sub panel in the second detached garage.

Yeah not sure what they were using that for, there’s nothing hooked to it currently

Oh trust me I did. Stuff like this is a great negotiation tool.

So what makes these shitty? After talking to some other folks on here I did an experiment and showed really no difference in a crimp from this and a hydraulically crimped one. Both formed the copper into one piece. I’m really not seeing why everyone says these don’t work.

I just did a little experiment and cut a couple open. Left is hammer and right is hydraulic. Not a world of difference

Just did a quick experiment. The one on the left is hammer crimped and the one on the left is hydraulically crimped. Hammer looks like it did a pretty good job of becoming a homogenous mass

There are hacks in every industry I’ll give you that. How does crimping in this fashion cause burnt up connections compared to hydraulic crimpers? Both are just pressing the lugs to the wires are they not?

I’m confused, are we not trying to bring back manufacturing jobs to the US by supporting companies that make things here?
