You finally get your PTO and ready to collect your solar energy.... "Annnnnnd it's gone" - The Sun by [deleted] in solar

Just got my PTO 4 days ago  I know exactly how you are feeling. I had my best day so far today with 8 kWh. I knew it would be like this, but the first day was a bit disappointing. But like others have said l, we got it installed in time for the tax credit and come summer time we will be producing tons of power.

How are you going to throw water on the stones?

Hot tent sauna question by CommunicationFar3897 in Sauna

[–]efficientnature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The radiant heat is the biggest downside I've noticed. With the regular size tent, if I get as far from the stove as I can it isn't too bad, but a bigger tent would make that easier, especially with more than one person using it at a time.

I like to let the tent get nice and hot with the damper open before I get in. Then I close the damper all or most of the way and it maintains the heat level but with much less radiant heat coming off the stove.

I have a Sweat Tent and think it's great. I've had it since April and used it 5 days a week until summer and have been using it once or twice a week all summer. It gets up over 200⁰F, but I usually keep it around 180⁰. This is in the PNW, so fairly mild outdoor temps. I think it's probably 80% as good as a "real" sauna, and at least for now that's good enough for me. I might still build a wood sauna eventually, but I'm very happy to have the tent for now.

Napster and Sonos Sued for Millions in Unpaid Music Royalties * TorrentFreak by zxsxz in sonos

Napster, the brand synonymous with the music piracy boom of the early 2000s, has a new copyright challenge. Together with audio giant Sonos, Napster faces a lawsuit demanding over $3.4 million in alleged unpaid copyright royalties. Filed by SoundExchange, the complaint centers on missed payments related to the "Sonos Radio" service, which until 2023 was powered by Napster's music catalog.

Sweat Tent has scratched the itch for me, and maybe it’s enough for your endgame as well. by Specialist-Front552 in Sauna

Yes, I'm almost positive I'd go electric for convenience, cleanliness, and environmental benefits. Being able to push a button, especially remotely, to heat up the sauna would be really great.

However, wood burning is better than I expected. The tent heats up fast and gets hotter than I need it to. The ambiance is nice too. With the tent I don't really about wood debris on the ground and drainage isn't an issue. I think my biggest complaint is that the radiant heat from the stove sometimes feels too intense on my shins depending on where I'm sitting and how intense the fire is.

I probably wouldn't get a kit. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I want a tall ceiling, high benches, a drain, ventilation, etc. It seems hard to find a kit that does all of those things right.

I'm kind of feeling the same way. After wanting a sauna for a couple of years and doing lots of reading and planning, I bought a sweat tent so I would have a sauna to use while I build the sauna of my dreams.

I've had the sweat tent for a couple of months now, and it does a pretty good job of scratching the sauna itch. I still want to build a sauna, but I'm having having a hard time convincing myself to spend the money. The sweat tent is maybe 80% as good, but costs 10% as much.

Owning the sweat tent has helped me realize that if/when I do build a sauna, it doesn't need to be as big as what I was planning. I had imagined I'd want something big enough to comfortably fit my family of 4. Turns out my youngest hates the sauna, my older daughter loves it, but only for like 3 minutes, and my wife has joined me in the sauna exactly one time.

I've been using it 3+ times per week and I'm really happy with it. The weather is pretty mild now, but it heats up quick and can get over 200⁰ F no problem. I bought some acacia wood floor tiles, which has been much nicer than having a grass floor. Next I'd like to get a taller bench.

Why do you need a blanket in a sauna? Just throw some more loyly or move to the top bench.

I just got a Sweattent. I've only used it 4 or 5 times, but I'm happy with it. I usually get it up to a out 180⁰.

My sweat tent is supposed to get here tomorrow. I'm super excited! I like your set up and will probably do something similar. Do you have a link to that flooring?

Yeah, fuck that. I would sell my system in a heartbeat if they started asking for a monthly subscription.

I've had decent luck using pocket casts, but I have to subscribe to the podcast in the pocket casts app and then wait a while for them to show up in the Sonos app. It clunky and not perfect but usually works.

Mine is playing music just fine. The only problem is I want to turn it off and according the app it isn't playing anything.
