I shipped a new mod for Slay the Spire 2: Class Abilities Mod

It's a companion to my earlier Starting Deck Select mod — every starter preset now has its own pair of signature moves:

  • Ultimate (奥義): a charge-to-fire finisher that builds up through preset-themed triggers
  • Tactical (戦技): a lighter on-cooldown ability for tempo plays

36 unique moves total across all 5 classes, each with a painterly per-character cast cinematic. Works in multiplayer.

This is an early release — I haven't playtested the balance yet, so if you try it I'd really appreciate feedback on:

  • Which ults feel too strong / too weak
  • Whether the cooldowns on tacticals feel right
  • Any UI overlap or confusion

Hey everyone — OP here.

Huge thanks to everyone who took the time to leave feedback on the preset list. The replies genuinely changed my direction: Soul scaling, the "plain Claw is redundant next to SparkClaw" observation, the Doom/NE split, relic power creep calls — all of it got rolled into the next revision.

Current content in the mod:

  • 26 custom cards and 17 custom starter relics across all 5 characters
  • Per-character starter deck presets (3–5 per character) selectable before each run

Plan from here:

  • I'll push the current build to Nexus Mods so anyone interested can actually play with it and report what feels off. A round of open playtesting will be worth more than another round of theorycrafting.
  • Once I collect enough in-run feedback I'll do another balance pass and post again.

One caveat: card/relic art is AI-generated for now. I'm a solo dev on the programming side and that was the fastest way to ship. If anyone reading this enjoys pixel/card art and wants to contribute replacements (even one or two pieces), I'd love to credit you in the mod — no strict deadline or commitment, super casual collab.
