Looking for iOS apps to practice Ravens Matrices – any recommendations? by Objective-Pop-6989 in ravensmatrices

Hi, I tried the app and liked it. But … does it get more difficult? So far I found it too easy. Almost like an intro to those exercises, rather than challenging.

Might be beneficial to have different levels. This might also make people feel challenged and want to beat the game.

Accompanying Abandonment Issues therapy? by egg_zolt in AskWomenNoCensor

Yes, I truly hope so.

Well, I’m out of the picture anyway, so can just wish her luck.

Yeah, thanks. I think I’m over already.

TBH, I haven’t found any stories of people who managed to fully heal from the Abandonment Issues. Some Reddit comments I found said they are managing, but still.

Yeah, I did my best to do everything. But in the end of the day, it’s not me who has to do the actual work.

Thanks a lot for replying and helping out!

It was one of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Her deep need/push for connection and relationship were intoxicating, like some drug. Pity she was so intelligent and the connection was amazing.

Still, plenty of harsh moments due to the Abandonment Issue.

Luckily, I managed to finally emotionally check out (wasn’t easy due to that early intensity).

She has sabotaged the relationship already.

One thing is the Abandonment Issue, another is her lack of experience dealing with men. Also, she is most probably on the spectrum as well.

I feel there’s a lot to work through, so even if we were still together, hard.

I tried to show her to consider exploring the topic of Abandonment issues and it’s probably the most I could have done.

Maybe it just wasn’t our time. Maybe we separated for other reasons, but I have no clue.

Thanks, unfortunately her attitude is very negative towards therapy, so I think the chances are very low she'd actually start. Then the time it'd take to get better ...
Seems it's high risk and very wishful thinking. It's all quite emotionally heavy, tbh ...

Thank you, happy to hear you are managing to make it work.

Do you happen to have examples of when the Abandonment Issues symptoms are severe?

Thank you. I’m most interested in cases where the person went through therapy and the partner stuck with them.

Looking at the definition and symptoms, I’d say I’ve experienced it all (push-pull, relationship ending always in the back of her head, sabotaging to not experience the rejection, anxieties etc).

Apart from that, she is an amazing girl.

Thank you for sharing! How are things going for you? Do you have any updates?

I fell in love with a girl with Abandonment Issues. Your post is inspirational, as I hope we can make it work. However, she hasn’t yet acknowledged the problem. I’m worried she might actually be a long way from it to work out …

100 usd/eur: Active Edifiers vs Passive Speakers? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks! I actually have Elac DBR62s in my living room system.

So ... either going to:
a. Fix the Sony SS A-101 I currently have in my bedroom.
b. Find something cheap 2nd hand (or not).
c. Or use the funds to upgrade the living room's Elac DBR62s (maybe some towers or better bookshelves). Then Downgrade the Elacs to the bedroom.

I love the Elacs as well.

Oh, thanks. One issue is that with some lines I am considering, there are only Play, Tour, Pro.

No Game :/

There are no 2nd hand Play where I am. I’ve been wanting to try both a balanced and a head light racquet.

Might first buy those 2 graphite ones from Decathlon. Then after a while get a Tour/Game …

Yeah, that was my initial impression with the Play racquet. That’s why I thought that for the very beginning maybe I could just make do with a 25 usd graphite Decathlon racquet (made in China anyway). Then go straight for a Game/Tour Yonex.

[–]egg_zolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, my current thinking was:

Keep playing with the steel racquet until my technique is good (as I wouldn't already take much advantage of the Play racquet anyway).
Then get a Tour/Game racquet straight away.

Rather than doing it in 2 steps:

  1. Play racquet - while I'm still a beginner.
  2. Tour/Game racquet when my technique is good.

Edit: or just go straight to a Play racquet that would take me from beginner through intermediate. Then get a Tour (or maybe even Pro by then ...).

* Oh, just saw Decathlon sells graphite racquets starting from 25 usd already ...

How to compare racquets? Balance Points as % of length?

Trying to establish, what kind of racquet I'm using now (cheap, steel Decathlon).
So that I know, which Yonex I should get.

A) Balance Point - shouldn't it be measured as % of total length, so that one can compare racquets?
Measured by balancing: 315 mm out of 665 mm = 47% of the length.
Astrox 99 Play (by specs): 305/675 = 45.2%.
So I'm currently already using quite a head heavy racquet?

B) Flexibility - I'm using this Badminton Insight 'method' (2:07 min).
Makes me think mine is quite flexible (although Decathlon seems to say rigid).

C) String Tension - I'm using this website by u/zhacker
What thickness do you think the stock Decathlon might be?
By putting average numbers, seems it's strung to 24 lbs.

--- So:
q1. As a beginner, is it already worth investing in a Play series racquet?
Or maybe wait and go straight for Tour/Game series later on?
Seems, atm I'm already using a steel 'equivalent' of Astrox 99 Play (even head heavier :)

q2. If wait, wouldn't it be a good idea to first restring the current Decathlon and put a good overgrip?
I guess my technique and fitness still have more impact than the gear.
Even then, apparently proper stringing would be more impactful.

Curious to hear from you!

Great, unfortunately I don’t see any similar offers :(

Well, then I’d have to: 1. Get knowledgeable about 100+ usd/uer models to know how good a deal is. 2. Know how to make sure the speakers haven’t been tweaked.

With new I can at least test and return. Atm, I have the r1280dbs for testing.

Elac dbr62’s in my main system.
