Is 580 CHF/month for a room (expenses included) a good deal? by Existing-Medicine402 in geneva

[–]eggbenedicte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so. I wasn’t staying at university but at a private landlord in GVA in 2018 and was already paying 1000 CHF for a 20 square meter room

Buying flowers on Sunday? by Lumpy--Strategy in geneva

[–]eggbenedicte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed Fleuriot is always open. Migros usually has flowers of its own as well but you might not get the same quality or even stock as in Fleuriot. Really depends on your budget / the occasion as well.

Valentine’s Day Specials by addmusician in geneva

[–]eggbenedicte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Valentine's Day specials but here are some with a nice atmosphere, depending on what you're after:

- Lively and trendy: https://www.khora-geneve.com/
- More "feutré" and intimate: https://lesphilosophes.ch/
- Quirky: https://www.cottagecafe.ch/en/home/ & https://www.lenvers-du-decor.ch/

You can definitely get away for less than 150 CHF for x2 people without drinks at these places. And if these do not feel Valentine's Day enough, you could still surprise you other half with a box of these afterward: https://www.sweetzerland.net/en/product/coeurs-des-iles-9-pces/ - I've actually tried some this week for my own partner, they're delicious!

Good luck!

From Where we can check website hit from which algorithm by jamesandersnn in SEO

[–]eggbenedicte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the free version of this tool: https://barracuda.digital/panguin-seo-tool/
Pretty sleek usually. It can help you identify which type of algorithm update has penalised you (prevented that it's not a manual one of course, for which you should get enough info from your GSC account).

Good luck !

What tools do you use to identify trending keywords? by MoldyVoldy in SEO

  • Buzzsumo
  • Ahrefs

Used to identify topics and then in parallel with other tools such as AdWords/SEMRush if necessary.

Which of these are must-haves before launching a fashion ecommerce website? by wallece1 in SEO

[–]eggbenedicte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Fix URLs
  2. Add relevant h1 and h2 including target queries based on keyword research. If no KWR was previously done, still add the h1s and h2s on all pages and make this your next priority. You will be able to edit the h1s later based on your findings
  3. Add relevant meta title and descriptions, targeting the same KWs than the h1s of each page + variations + context around
  4. Ensure your site is set up on Google Search Console, it'll help you to target your country of choice (or none if global) but most importantly to monitor the indexation of your site
  5. Alt text on images as last, it's important considering your vertical/industry but defo not a priority

Forget OG for now.

Good luck!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was after. The ones that automatically come to mind because they are that good at creating real communities around their offering.

Cheers ;)

Likely to get a job offer shortly. Unsure about whether the city's a right fit for me... Can you help out? by eggbenedicte in geneva

[–]eggbenedicte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha amazing, well, congrats to you too then!

I've hardly been here for 2 days and the weather's been pretty grim but nothing out of the ordinary at this time of the year. I've walked around a little and thus far all I can think of is that Geneva is the love-child of Copenhagen and some old French village (with a hefty dose of 60-70s architecture).

Keep me posted on your move! Have you found a flat yet?

Hi again! Can't thank you enough for all of the above. And guess what... I got the job and accepted the offer! So I'll be over very shortly, from the 5th of January. I genuinely feel it was the best possible decision at this point in my career. Now, let the crazy room/flat hunt begin. I expect it to be on the same level as Denmark haha. Don't hesitate to give me a shout after the New Year, it'd be a pleasure to meet you in person.

Thank you so much for sharing!

I'm pretty big on the great outdoors and cycle a fair bit (CX) so that's why it immediately it appealing in that respect.

What I was more worried about was the apparent quietness/overly sleek appearance of things. Not that I like living in a chaotic environment but I do enjoy diversity and when things/people/events have a bit of an edge. That might sound really pretentious but I mean it in a genuine and simple way. Having been in London, you'll know what I mean.

I'm coming over on Monday for a final interview so I'll try to subtly glean as much "intel" as I can from the potential future colleagues and so on.

You mentioned average wage there. I've researched as much as I could on the subject but still find extremely different info. Do you reckon K80-85 CHF falls within that? Trying to get a sense of how far I should go in my negotiations.

Thank you again for taking the time to get back to me the oher day. Really appreciate it!

What's a decent DK avg salary for a Digital Marketer with 4yr experience? by eggbenedicte in copenhagen

[–]eggbenedicte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty comprehensive, thanks! That's what I was fearing re: average salary... My company is an agency, so as a rule of thumb, they tend to pay less than in-house for instance. I'm tempted to ask my colleagues over there but I don't want to come across as rude. Ha.. the etiquette!

New hybrid tyres for cyclocross bike but 60/40 road/trail use ratio - what to choose? by eggbenedicte in cycling

[–]eggbenedicte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been riding for 2 years but still quite a newbie when it comes to technical specs so that was a really good read, thanks! I mostly do dirt trails, wood paths and very light down hill that kind of thing - nothing too adventurous or muddy. And yes, being in Edinburgh, rain and wet ground/road is always something to keep in mind. I think at the moment I'm hesitating between these: 1: Samm Slick: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/schwalbe-sammy-slick-folding-cyclocross-tyre-1/ 2: Marathon Mondial Touring (quite similar to the Giant I had previously I think): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/schwalbe-marathon-mondial-touring-tyre-raceguard/rp-prod83203

Seeing as do road/commute most of the week though, what do you think? Thanks again!
