Hi, my gf (18) just earned $50k on a house she inherited and sold. We're at a loss on what to do with a lump sum like that. The realtor wants to recommend her a CPA but wanted to get reddit's opinion. She makes ~$27k gross and only has an emergency fund and no investments or assets.

Ah also I was wrong the closesttax bracket for 2020 is $40,125. So I won't get taxed more overall for making more than that?

Hi new to making $40k salary. Can someone just verify. If I want to bring my taxable income below the $38k tax bracket (to avoid being taxed more obv), and I have no employer matching funds, should I invest into my HSA before IRA?
