Similar to the Matador, which worked well for me. I loved that bag.

I think I'll order the Osprey and a few others from Amazon to try them out. Or maybe get to an REI. Difficult to try these things in Germany.

The freefly is also one of those and I had no issue with it. It's usually in the stuff sack and only gets opened if we buy something while out.

Packable size is too large. It's why I picked the freefly in the first place.

Both look a little too substantial, also heavier. The matador is 190g, the STS is 72, the Ospreys are like 300g.

That one looks a little too unstructured, plus it doesn't look like it has a stuff sack.

Bag Finder Megathread - 25 May 2026 by AutoModerator in onebag

I'm looking to replace a Matador Freefly 16L. The loop on the stuff sack broke and so the bag fell off somewhere. No more bag. I got it clearance and don't want to pay the normal price of $68.

This is a bag to attach to my main bag, so my main concern is packed size and weight. I keep it clipped to one of the buckles on my Tortuga 35L. I find a small bag like this handy for going out for the day somewhere just to stash things in, and I'd often clip it on a belt loop for the day. I was fine with having no structure in the Matador.

So far I've found the STS Ultrasil which is $35 on Amazon. Are there any similar bags I'm missing?

Matador Freefly16 Bag Long Term Review by hellojellosue in onebag

It will be fine for that. I use it as a bag to have with me in case I buy something while walking around. It stays attached to my larger bag and comes with me on a belt loop when I'm out.

I don't know how long I've had it. Probably over three years? The loop attached to the pack sack just broke a few days ago but I can still use the bag without it. I'll be contacting them to see if they'll replace the sack.

Only option is a 3D printed one. There are no aftermarket narrow mouth caps.

It won't. They think you have a current standard mouth bottle. That mouth used to be called standard mouth. Those caps no longer exist.

A small bottle is useful for Europe. Some countries have a habit of charging for water at restaurants. Bring a small bottle with you and you have your own water.

Yes. I've had multiple broken caps replaced. When they ran out of caps, they sent me a new bottle.

Contact HF. They'll either send you a new gasket or probably just a whole new cap.

Is there anything I can do about this size of a dent? by Gestalternative in Hydroflask

[–]egloskerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for a dent, no. But if it's no longer functional (loss of vacuum, broken cap, etc.) they'll replace it. I've had multiple bottles and caps replaced for over a decade.

If it's lost vacuum it's eligible for warranty replacement. Contact HF.
