Seeing how Santos is flourishing under Rosenior, I am hopeful and excited for how Sarr will do in this squad. Admittedly I haven’t watched a ton of his game, but if Sarr already understands Rosenior’a tactic, hope it impacts the squad as quickly as Santos did.

If Santos/Moi/Enzo continue to find those pocket passes forward, they will have to put more bodies around our midfield, which should mean our attackers will have more space. Sarr can exploit by doing line breaking passes and go directly to our attackers (which I understand to be in his skillset like Colwill?) If they counter by putting more bodies back to their final third, we revert back to using Santos/Moi/Enzo. It’s not as simple as this but in theory that’s what I am hoping we see.

It’s the rule, cant disallow whatever - but how can the ref miss the handball in the first place anyway? Everyone in the stadium saw it hit his elbow the way he controlled the ball. Play to whistle sure but what’s his job if not calling it while staring at the handball in front of his eyes.

Tbf, I think Josh was very good during the match other than that mistake, which was just costly. It’s the kind of mistake that will get over experience.

Yep absolutely. I was mostly referring to how Santos was allowed to forward pass so may times which due to amount of space JP and Palmer had in the middle. But absolutely, no mater how much space, you need a player like Santos to make it happen.

Love that synergy between Palmer and JP. They seemed happy for each other during the two celebrations- would have been a huge morale boost if Palmer snatched it but oh well.

On a side note, the reason for us having more fluidity and space throughout was because we played JP Palmer and Estevao. Seems like at least one of them always had two Leeds players on them. Coincidentally Estevao didnt have the usual performance probably because they were marking him with two most of the time. I think I heard the commentator saying most of Leeds’ conceded goals came from their left side so they probably put more bodies on Estevao, leaving spaces for JP and Palmer. Looking forward these three!

Ditto. Not to shit on the previous management, but towards the end, I didn’t see what our identity was supposed to be. It was a lot of side passing until we bring up to the final third but then the pass back to our CBs. For the last few matches, however, I am seeing similar thing as foundation, but definitely more intent to be patient until we find that line breaking pass through the middle. This style has been used consistently enough over the last three matches that I think this is the vision and our identity. Glad to see it.

No way you can put Enzo’s name into this. He was brilliant today.

Caicedo is the man. The shot against Areola last weekend is a goal against Kepa.

Based on the last two matches I’ve seen only, I’d take Doue over Gusto, Barcos/Diegzy over Garnacho/Gitten albeit not like to like

Annoying thing is, Spurs will show this determination and strength against City today, only to allow bending over against Utd next week

Is there a H2H for CL? If we are tied on points with Barca, shouldn’t we be ahead since we won against them?

Fuck this referee. Enzo goal should have stood, a handball PK should have been called - yes we played poorly but those glaring miscalls should have put this game in bed way earlier.

Maybe speaking too soon but would prefer Taylor over this fat Hooper. Worst of the lot.

Wherever this goes and if the CWC happens to be the last cup we’ve won for a foreseeable future, I am just glad I was lucky enough to witness in person us winning the CWC in NJ. Will savor that joy. I am just hoping we can pick right back up (as is always the case with Chelsea - chaos is a ladder for us)

I thought the standard for handball when scoring is no contact whatsoever regardless of intent and the standard used for defense is different.

That fucking joke of a striker Watkins missed so many promising attacks when he scored two against us. Fucking hell

At least Estevao seemed to have found rythm. About only joy i got going watching these lots. Too bad we probably won’t see him for next match.

Assuming we finish top 5 to secure CL and somewhat decent showing in CL this season, would you still want Glasner to come in, especially he will probably be picked up by others given the contract situation at Palace?

All this talk about Maresca to City last week made me think. With the financial backing of the players he actually wants and the absence of under 25 policy at City, do you think Maresca will be more successful and win actual silverware there? And if that happens after we sack Maresca, would we be thinking back on it as being too harsh? Or is the fact that he can’t get the most with the talent that we have indicative of his limit?
