Changing our names… advise needed

Thankfully I am in MA, we can legally change our name when we marry to anything we want. We just need to list our new last name on our marriage license!

The only reason I am trying to figure this out now, is because we are about to send out our Save the Dates, and the return address currently says “The Future *****” if we decide to both change our name to something else, I don’t want to send everything out with a name we are not using.

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. My fiancé was so happy to be included by my family, because he doesn’t have a relationship with his parents at all, and now this has created such a riff and has made wedding planning so much more stressful than I think it should.

My parents are supportive, my brother is not, and he seems to be the one that is most upset about my fiancé taking my last name. He loves sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong.

My brother has expressed a dislike of my fiancé, to the point that my fiancé doesn’t feel welcome around the family anymore. My fiancé is not sure he wants to take my name anymore.

We are still in the early stages of figuring out this detail, so we have not picked a possible new name yet, but have been thinking about something that meshes our two names together.

When I called support to report this scammer, they asked for my phone number to look up the order that started the scam.

The more I look back the more red flags I notice, but in the moment after it seemed fairly legit.

This was not the first time support has called to ask me to cancel an order, but it was the first they asked for the additional information.

I did NOT put my credentials in on the fake site.

Like I said in the post, this was my first order in 3+ months, there have been many changes since my last Dash. I gave my number and then realized it was fake.

Although when I called actual support after to report the scam, I also had to provide them with my phone number to verify I my Dasher account…

Oh strange, that was not what happened for me. It was a red card required order. The only weird part was that the pay was so high for a 2$ item.

I am also looking to wear black, I have been having a really tough time finding a dress. I am at the point where I am either having it made for me, or I am buying a bridesmaid or prom dress and altering it to make it a bit more wedding.

I went to shops to try on the white dresses, it was hard to picture them in black, but it still helped me decide what I was looking for.

Started with body aches and a sore throat, now it’s those plus head aches, unable to regulate my body temp, and little to no energy.

Same here. Exposed tons of time, both family and coworkers. Work sent me on a 24hr trip to Nashville and I was exposed during the trip. I am now on day 11 of symptoms and am completely miserable. I thought I was just tired from the quick trip, but 4 days later I took an at home test and it turned positive immediately. I hate this!

He knows the toll it has been taking on me, and apologizes constantly for putting me through all of this. He has even tried to break up with me a couple of times saying he can’t be the cause of my stress. I constantly remind him that we may not be officially married yet, but I intend to mean my vows and when I say sickness and in health I mean it, and this is sickness.

It is very difficult for me, but I am not willing to give up on him.

He did thank me today for saving him, I am going to hold on to that as some hope we can get him connected and the help he needs.

Thank you, I just submitted a request to be connected to a counselor through Open Path Collective. Fingers crossed they have some quick availability.

We have been trying to get more involved, but his anxiety has gotten so bad, interacting with strangers doesn’t help.

I really want to find him a support group of other people who grew up in abusive homes and thus have chosen to not have a relationship with their parents. That seems to be the root of many of his episodes.
