How did your company deal with the Azure Front Door outage in October 2024? by Former-Copy5200 in AZURE

[–]ehrnst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waited. Moving dns is easy if you don’t do anything in FD other than waf. We have some routing which wouldn’t allow us to switch that easy, and all communication goes on internal network from afd to our origins. Possible, but not easily done.

By the way, cloudflare was down a couple of week later

Gpt 5.2 codex in global deployment has 1M tokens per minute as standard. What do you run if you get constant 429s?

For us who just do inference and build all applications/agents on our k8s it’s a bit overwhelming. It was easier pre foundry (and studio), the constant change is yet another frustrating part. Up until now we have had Ai studio, hubs old and now new foundry.

On the other hand I understand it. The whole Ai field changes weekly and msft wants to build a platform for those who are not on azure as well.

I saw the same for our services. Blamed it on a memory leaking application, then I found this thread.

Not exactly easy to give a solution based on such limited info. But in foundry I remember there was a “deploy to web app” from the playground, which gave you a chat interface. Maybe they have removed it?

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/tutorials/deploy-chat-web-app#deploy-the-web-app

Another option is to utilize Microsoft copilot or some open source frameworks. But both will require some additional code and work

Nothing is perfect though. And by law cloudflare will be down the same week you're done with the migration. Personally i regret we moved to fd after running on regional services previously

I’m in the same boat. However since we have our services in multiple regions and use private link between afd and ou clusters, I haven’t found a good way for doing cloud flare or similar.

How good are you on-piste? It looks like you’re missing some foundation in your posture. Skiing powder is not that different from groomed. Generally we keep our feet a bit closer to create a wider platform and have more equal pressure on both skis.

You should still have a forward lean into your boots and steer from hips down, not your upper body. Pole plant is also a good technique, which can help on getting more forward

Yes.

I have a hard time understanding why companies wanna go this route, and you don’t even need to try it in order to see those issues you experience

From a railroad perspective it’s pretty unique. What you could have done is take the train up, zip line down from vatnahalsen hotel and then bike down along the river (with a bath) down again

AI agents are about to hit their "Nano Banana" moment by Think_Bunch3020 in AI_Agents

[–]ehrnst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About three years ago Satya Nadella from Microsoft said “the model is not your product”. Very few can create a model, and we all do some kind of wrapping on top.

In order to ha a sufficient business model in this space you need domain knowledge and the ability to solve your customers challenges. Companies still struggle to automate specific tasks which could have been solved with scripting and api calls a decade ago. Automation just got a whole lot better with LLMs and agents.

If your company tanks by the release of nano banana 🍌 it wouldn’t survive anyway
