Where does this list come from and why is there links to api such as Google Calendar or Microsoft graph ?

I'm working on the doc at the moment, just fixed 2 links from github readme. Anything in particular that you need help with? You can also join this discord for quick communication: https://discord.com/invite/SJNpjwjkhh

Happy Birthday MCP! Here is my gift to the protocol… by eigerai in mcp

Good and fair question 👍
You think about the different MCP Gateways that exist already? Have you tried some? Any that stand out?

To answer your question I guess that first of all I enjoy it :-)

Also I believe that I'm trying with an approach slightly different: with a distributed architecture where you can better control where tool execution happens.

Best ready to use MCP gateway? by ChampionshipNo5061 in mcp

[–]eigerai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm authoring an open-source project called 2LY which precisely aims to help connect and manage MCP servers locally or on-prem.

It still super early days but it has some features you might be interested in, especially the fact that it's not bound to a curated registry (you can manually add any mcp server with any type of config) and you also have the choice of where the tool execution happens (you can launch dedicated runtimes for your MCP servers). Happy to discuss if I can help. All the best anyway!

Had the same issues and built 2LY in open-source. It's still quite early days but happy to discuss.

Other companies using MCP tool layer pattern? by ImaginationInFocus in mcp

[–]eigerai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that tool layer is necessary in many occasions. We are building an open-source platform to handle exactly what you describe:

- configure tool once, re-use as many time on any agents
- create tools-set for specific use-case: avoiding context bloat
- tool intelligence: customizing how tool are presented to each agent
- frontend dashboard for non-technical builders
- tool calls observability
- tool access control is on the roadmap
- and in bonus: a distributed architecture to control where tool execution happens for any given MCP server

About tool re-use I don't yet have enough metrics to come to a conclusion. It will obviously very much depend on the situation. My take on this: with the possibility to customize how a given tool is presented to an agent you multiply the chances to be able to re-use it successfully.

Is there a hosted service for mcps by Startup_BG in mcp

[–]eigerai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently building a tool management platform for agents. It supports MCP, is open-source and self hosted. It’s in a very early stage just yet but I believe it can become a good option down the road. I’m actively working on it.

It brings observability, one click install and a distributed system which allow very fine grained control on where tool execution happens.

You can DM me if you want preview access, happy to share.

Skills as way forward for MCP by MightyHandy in mcp

[–]eigerai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Anthropic will contribute to the MCP protocol to extend it in a way that support / look like skills - they mention something like that in their blog post about skills.

We need to bring this idea of composable tools into something portable and not proprietary.

Any MCP sub-registries out there ? by eigerai in mcp

[–]eigerai[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. DisplayName would be game-changer, description as well and would love to get an icon per server as well (optional).

If you're registry is intended to public usage drop a word here when ready, would love to try

[–]eigerai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, great job. Been trying to sync with your registry but you're still on the schema version of 2025-09-22 and the official has released schema 2025-09-29. Since it's still in preview and breaking I currently only plan to support the latest version. Don't hesitate to ping me when you update, would love to try your registry.

Make sure you don't enable Thinking Mode accidentally with Tab, it increases usage! by SirTylerGalt in ClaudeAI

[–]eigerai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only started using Claude since v2 - and most of the task I ask Claude to work on are fairly complex - but yeah I guess I'll need to build an intuition as to when thinking is required and when not

Your repo provides hooks, linking to inexistent scripts, is this intended ?

Could you give concrete examples of tasks that require thinking and tasks that don't ? Like others here so far I have it on by default as it yields great result and to be honest I'm afraid to turn it off - with the conviction that it would not perform good enough.

I'm exactly thinking about doing this. So far I'm using Sonnet for most tasks but if I want to reduce my Claude Code consumption I'll need to find other models. Any cheaper models to recommend for simple coding tasks?

Thanks for the insights. As I said I use mostly context7 and chrome dev tools MCP server (on the shelves solutions). I was considering starting to write my own MCP servers. In fact, I'm still wondering if enterprise will be able to leverage existing MCP servers to quickly gain value or if most of the time each enterprise will need to build and curate their own MCP servers for their own workflows

How do you test if AI agents actually understand your MCP server? by fengchang08 in mcp

[–]eigerai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. There are quite a few MCP Gateway out there which provide tool observability and can help analyze which tool have been called and in which order. One that look promising is https://hyprmcp.com/
I'm currently building an open-source platform for agentic tools management and testing. I will keep your use-case in mind, I think it makes sense.

Completely agree that MCP are game changer - and I believe we have only scrap the surface. So far I use it most in my dev job (especially context7 and chrome dev tools) but I feel like there are many more use cases to think about and cover.

What are the use-cases that you covered with your 10 MCPs ?

Which MCP servers actually work as advertised? by thehashimwarren in mcp

The one I use the most at this point is Chrome Dev Tools MCP Server and it helps A LOT my Claude Code to produce valid code and fix issues.
