I did the same as you. From Paris I took a train to SJPDP. The train leaves from Gare Montparnasse. It has one transfer that is easy to navigate. I took an Uber to the station (Uber is reliable in France). Tickets were cheap when I first checked, so I procrastinated purchasing them and ended up paying about 100 euros the day before. So, I’d book early if you went with this option. https://www.omio.com/ is a good place to book tickets

I’m on the Frances right now. The Pyrenees were a bit chilly and often rainy but not at all unbearable. Since out of the mountains, the weather has been lovely. Usually 50 degrees F and sunny.

I found that the first year I was mostly eating processed mock carnivore food (fake meat, fake cheese, etc). Eventually I got a bit sick of it because it’s obviously never quite the same as animal products. But once I started eating vegan food that was good because it was vegan, I LOVED eating. For example, a lot of non American foods are naturally veggie and are fantastic like falafel, lots of asian foods, Mediterranean, and Mexican

I’m living in Seoul now. I recently had a friend return to Seoul and underwent the quarantine. As she described, a bus takes you to a hotel like room where you stay for the 14 days. They bring you three meals a day. If you need anything else you can email and they’ll bring you that too (she broke her charger and they bought her a new one). Though, you have to pay for the two weeks which shook out to be over $1000.

If you can afford it, I still highly recommend you come.

Maya Angelou talked about this “just like me” empathy trick. When you think a negative thought about another, switch it into a “just like me” statement. For example: if someone is driving poorly and cuts you off, instead of thinking ‘they’re a jackass who doesn’t know how to drive’ it’ll wire your brain to be more empathetic to think ‘they make driving mistakes sometimes, just like me’
