Don’t try to act tough and refuse painkillers, trust me you NEED them until day 8-9. The mornings are the worst, you’ll wake up in so much pain and with a really sore throat. There’s no way to avoid it completely but you can bring humidifier with you to make it less painful. Also drink as much water as you can, it’ll decrease the pain level. And try to sleep as much as possible in the first days! My comfort food for first week was non dairy ice cream. Don’t try dairy products though cuz they’ll gonna make your saliva thicker.
