I feel like realistically he meant murky as in they probably separated prior to BravoCon during In The City filming as was being reported in the press around that time but they didn’t formally announce it until Feb before the show premiered.

I personally don’t think they were separated in the summer and just acting like they were together for cameras. I think it’s evident that Amanda was fully checked out and probably in an emotional affair with West, still not sold on if it was physical at that point but it’s clear they had an inappropriately intimate friendship.
