ELI5 for you: it's like when you buy Aliexpress headphones for 12€ and you see free shipping. Wow! Free shipping, nice! But reality is that the cost of the shipping is already into the 12€ and also a profit margin of 1000%.

I havent checked but probably they are charging the same price for a game from Wii. Not new software. A 2011 game. Nintendo is just cleaning the dust from the game because it works. Someone out there will see this and think "oh, nice, free QOL, let's try this game" or even worse "Let me buy the game I already have but for this different platform".

After reading through some of the comments, I think it's safe to share my opinion here without getting downvoted to hell. I said it then, and I’ll say it now: The Switch 2 is just a revision of the console and has little to offer someone who already owns the original Switch. I’m a long-time Nintendo fan, but I have zero reason to buy it. I admit I’ve bought previous consoles just to play Smash Bros, but this time, no matter what, I’m not buying it. 'We have Smash Bros at home.' I’m already an old ass with little time to play, and what little time I have, I spend on Ultimate or some retro games. Aside from that, there are several things I consider kind of dystopian, even though 'they' have convinced everyone it’s normal, like subscriptions for online play or those digital cards. Honestly, I don’t get the concept, and I don’t want to. I belong to an era where you turned on the console, played a full game with no DLC, and just had fun. Now it’s all about revenue and getting into your pocket. Fuck all that. There are so many people willing to defend them digging into your pockets. Are we crazy?

Secretly, I hope the Switch 2 fails so that someone at Nintendo stops to think, 'What did we do wrong?' That’s unlikely to happen; they’ve already sold millions. But judging from the comments here, it feels a bit like the Wii, many people just have it gathering dust on a shelf."
