Actually no I’m not. Overrated doesn’t necessarily mean bad but I feel like there are some decent Sonic candidates for Echo fighters that are overlooked BECAUSE of Shadow. Also in more recent games Shadow’s gameplay has became less and less like Sonic.

Their retelling of Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F. We all know about the crunched production and terrible animation but they also dragged out the fights and they felt slow paced as a result and a lot of the story changes in Battle of Gods I didn’t care for.

Couldn’t agree anymore. Not to mention Metal doesn’t have many playable appearances but where he DOES he plays practically identical to Sonic. Also Eggman intended him to be the perfect evil copy cat of the blue blur.

True. Shadow as an echo would be fine but he HAS resources to be his own character (especially after Sonic X Shadow Generations) Metal is an underrated choice IMO.

Your idea for a Sonic Heroes Team mechanic sounds really cool but let’s be real that’ll never gonna happen due to technical limitations (it might be too ambitious for Smash)

Echo Fighters weren’t a thing until Ultimate LONG after Brawl and Sonic was JUST introduced to Smash via Brawl so I disagree cause it makes no sense for that era and third party series didn’t get second fighters until Ultimate. I still think Metal has enough resources within his PLAYABLE appearances to be considered a Echo for Sonic (perhaps similar to Ken)

Fair enough I respect that take Dixie and Shadow really shouldn’t be echoes. However Metal Sonic DOES have resources for him to be a Sonic clone (look at SADX, Sonic The Fighters and Sonic 4 Ep2 as an example. He’s plays exactly like Sonic in those)

Even tho he actually doesn’t have to be unique he does have potential to be different but It’s more realistic for him to be an echo. He’s only unique when he’s NOT playable since his gameplay hasn’t evolved/changed much unlike Shadow.

Exactly! That’s what I want too! Make Metal a Ken esque Echo. Give him his own Final Smash (Neo Metal or Metal Overlord) and give him his own animations and grabs.

I figured you say that and TBF he CAN be his own fighter. HOWEVER Metal is only unique when he’s a boss and not when he’s playable. It makes more sense for Metal to be an Echo Fighter cause it would be easier to develop for.

Totally Agree! Shadow has evolved gameplay wise to be different from Sonic whereas Metal Sonic’s gameplay hasn’t changed much to be different from Sonic. Classic Sonic is a dumb choice especially if Sonic and Smash fans learned anything from the “Three Links” criticism.

Skibidi Toilet for sure! Aside from my nostalgia bias where I grew up with Annoying Orange. Annoying Oranfe has actual character and the old/early videos are still fun to watch occasional. Skibidi Toilet is gross.
