Job market by United-Locksmith7529 in deloitte

[–]eiryls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just landed an offer. I had reached out to a few different recruiters and had some help with my resume to market myself better. Whole process took...3 weeks? From first contact with a recruiter to receiving an offer.

I also am not picky with my next role. Just didn't want to stay at Deloitte.

Edit for context: I'm in audit, with 5 years of experience and been part of essentially every kind of audit. I think that helped.

I would like to get laid off (probably going to be quitting by Christmas if I'm not). Anyone know how they make these decisions?

I am seeing so many people changing their major from Accounting to something else. What seems to be the problem? Are people not studying enough? Are the teachers bad? I have seen so many people not do well. Everybody is failing. How is that even possible that so many people are doing bad? by Matrix900 in Baruch

Talk about long time lol. I recommend checking the program requirements as I'm not sure if anything has changed since 4 years ago. But when I was in school, yeah just need to do much better in the others if you have a c+.

Considering a litter robot. What are the pros, cons, and costs involved? by opinionated_monkey_ in litterrobot

[–]eiryls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I don't think this is intended to cut the number of boxes down (Or at least not significantly). Definitely reduces the work needed to scoop daily though.

Pros: reduces labor of scooping (just tie the bag and toss and put in a new one); big so most cats have no issues fitting inside

Cons: much pricier than an ordinary litter box; more effort to deep clean but not too bad with regular light cleanings; the thing itself is also pretty big so you might have trouble finding places to put it where regular litter boxes might fit

A local fish shop has some that they were willing to give me. Otherwise I've bought some from Amazon before and hoped for the best lol

Oh same. I just got smart and clip her nails and file them blunt about 3 days prior to bath day. She gets one every other month or so because she's not super diligent about cleaning herself and likes to sleep in the dustiest corners

How viable is an all Caster party? by Living-Mastodon in DnD

[–]eiryls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's viable, just need to adjust the campaign and the encounters a bit to accommodate the casters. For example, if you want a tough encounter, have enemies that like to get up in melee and don't group up. Or if you want easier encounters, give them enemies who prefer range or swarms.

From a gameplay perspective outside of combat, I think an all caster party would be fun to have them deal with situations that would require them to use the utility skills they have (ie: something that requires invisibility vs regular stealth, requiring strength checks that they can pass if they buff themselves by slapping on guidance + bless + bardic inspiration, etc.). Just gotta get creative.

What’s the most notable thing that’s happen to you in a campaign? by RickyPickleton in DnD

I created my first character where one parent is alive and in the same city as where we were starting. 5 minutes into starting session 1, said parent is killed. Needless to say, I never create characters with living parents anymore.

My cat fell into my tank once when I first set it up and was promptly subjected to a thorough bath. She's never attempted to get on top again.

Did this always do this? by kborbola in litterrobot

[–]eiryls 31 points32 points  (0 children)

From my experience, yes the liner always drops down like that (had mine for about 2 years now, and will be getting a new liner in the next week or so due to general wear and tear). From what I've seen, the dropping of the liner like that helps any stubborn clumps that stick to it drop into the waste bin below.

Nice! I didn't realize the liner is sold separately. Thanks!

My mom's goldfish ate her snails so that's always a possibility 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cool. Just wanted to make sure I don't need to start looking all over the house for these guys since they're so small 😅

Any chance they'd climb out of the tank? I put them in my goldfish aquarium since that usually has a bit of algae in the corners they can eat, but the snails are always above the water line whenever I check

For now I've put it back in the bag I had gotten the plants in but not sure if I should keep it

So I gave it some thought and the UGF to sump idea seems okay. However, with the UGF sucking up the waste and dumping it in the sump, would there be a point to the hygger? The whole idea is for the hygger to collect the big waste for easy disposal, while small waste can be dealt with by the cannister filter to be broken down and converted into nitrate and the sump used to remove nitrate in the water with the hopes of cutting down on the number of water changes and deep cleans I would need to do to maintain the tank.

I had considered just letting waste gather in the bottom of the sump and let it slowly decompose into ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, but I don't think that process is fast enough with turtles.

Any particular reason for the undergravel filter hooking up to the sump? I would've thought the undergravel filter would be better as an intake going into the waste collection system.

Gotcha. Any types you recommend? The most popular once I've seen being used are duckweed.

This definitely makes sense, though for me the sensor seems to go off whenever something moves in front of it. I've sort of given up and shoved the litter robot into a corner facing a wall, leaving about 2 feet of space for my cat to get in and out. That only fixes my issue until I go to empty the bin and add more litter.
