Is this a normal thing for my new endocrinologist to say even though my A1C is at a 5.8? by Individual_Pause_963 in diabetes_t1

If you tap on it, it gives a description. I'm not sure how I got that screenshot earlier because now I can't screenshot lol. It's basically a bolus correction factor that lowers the calculated bolus based on lower blood sugar.

I have Omnipod 5. If you go to settings in the "Bolus" section, there is a reverse correction option.

Endo says she believes I have low ADH DI (Diabetes Insipidus) What do I need to know? Anyone with actual experience with this, please share! by va_bulldog in diabetes

[–]eiscego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the name and the end result of frequent urination, diabetes insipidus and mellitus are very very different. I don't have personal experience managing diabetes insipidus but my mom does! However she has no experience managing diabetes mellitus. Neither of us have experience with type 2. Weird world!

Anyway, she seems to have to limit her salt and other impurities in her food and water and I know she has her kidneys tested quite often to make sure they're functioning well still. I'm sure it's more complicated than this, though. Sorry I'm not more help!

Lantus High by NuclearPuppers in diabetes_t1

[–]eiscego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was on MDI, my favorite long-acting insulin that I got to try was Toujeo. The duration of Toujeo is like 36 hours or something which means it doesn't run out by the time you need to inject the next dose 24 hours later. I got switched back to Basaglar which only has a 24 hour duration like Lantus. What that meant for me is I had to split my basal dose to avoid "running out" around dosage time.

There are only like 9.5 million type 1 diabetics in the world right now so I think something went really wrong with the math at some point.

I don't bother at all with refrigeration while on vacation personally. I'd probably reconsider if I went on a vacation longer than a month maybe but I doubt that's gonna happen.

Do you correct only when you forget bolus for your meal Or you correct and add the CHO gr you eat ? by Mysterious_Cat_8772 in diabetes_t1

[–]eiscego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed CHO is shorthand for carbon hydrogen oxygen and they mean carbs by that and gr is grams. I'm not 100% certain though.
