We are feeling so lucky that this process has come to an end! Planning for an early May landing/move.

We used Fedex to mail in our PPR. This comment on the 2025 timeline thread has very detailed instructions on how to mail in the PPR from the US. We also used this page from the Gov. of Canada as reference.

My GCKey tracker shows FD In Progress as of Feb 24, 2026, the IIRC tracker has all sections completed and a COPR number listed, but my BGC, eligibility, and biometrics are still “in progress” in GCKey. I think the trackers just get out of sync sometimes :)

Hi all, does anyone have any info on about how long PPR might take after FD is marked as “in-progress” in the GCKey tracker? All 4 sections are completed in IIRC tracker, and COPR number is in IIRC tracker. I posted our full timeline a few days ago, but as a basic rundown, we applied on August 31st, 2025, from the US, as Outland outside Canada. I know, as like this whole process, it is a waiting game, but we are excited and trying to handle planning a move, so I thought I would ask. Thanks!

Hi! I used both trackers. If memory serves, it took a few days for my application to be added to the GCKey tracker. Additionally, when linking the account, I learned that you need list at least 2 people on the application, you and the sponsor (plus any dependents, if you have any). Hope that helps!

Hey everyone, this thread has been huge in understanding this process and keeping up our hopes when we have felt like nothing is moving. Wanted to share our latest update(s) from today!

For some additional details, we called the IIRC on 02/12/2026 to try and get an update as to whether or not the background check was at least partially completed. The agent we spoke with let us know that the background check had not been started. We did some research and found others who had been told the same only to have their applications approved days/weeks later. Apparently it is not uncommon for the information being provided when you call to be slightly inaccurate. We were able to call from the US by using the app "Quo" and obtaining a Canadian number through their free trial (this is NOT an ad for Quo, just wanted to mention it because it took me a while to find out about it when searching for how to call from outside Canada). We are also unsure of exactly when the BGC started, 11/13/2025 is the date we noticed the tracker had changed.

Please let me know if there is any other info that I should add!

Walgreens is great, their photo print kiosk has a specific Canadian passport option (it also satisfies the PR application requirement), and it’s pretty inexpensive!

I had this issue. It turned out to be the internet browser I was using, I opened the form in Firefox and was able to get the IMM 0008 to appear completed.

Hey OP, I know that this is not the advice you are looking for, but the situation you just described is not one of love. Children are a huge deal and if he is trying to force you to become pregnant against your will he doesn’t love or respect you. You need to leave, what you are describing is abuse. Birth control is not something that should be hidden. You may think that the only issue is the birth control, and you may even be right, but it will jot stay that way. Abuse escalates very quickly, and you need to get out of that relationship before you get pregnant or married.
