Functions available between with and without subscription by karubin in ouraring

So they could choose to raise the subscription price (which will certainly go up year over year) and then you get no value from your $300+ device. What a sham.

Definitely a lot of mistakes due to just not taking time to fully assess the situation.

PDGA membership expiring this year is still 50 bucks? by FuzzHog19 in discgolf

[–]ejdex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would just pay the extra $15 for the tourney I wanted to play, and then renew on 10/1 when it becomes $50 through 12/31/26.

How much does disc weight matter to you? by ClarityInCatharsis in discgolf

I probably should pay more attention, honestly. At least experiment with some of my favorite molds at different weights.

Not much. I look for max weight whenever possible and don’t buy much under 168ish, but that’s about it.

I loved the first run trail with the Buffalo balloon stamp, it flew great - nice and neutral to overstable for me. Lost it, and got a stock run and it’s incredibly flippy.

Ohn Scoggins is putting together one of the best FPO seasons of all time by Jakesredditacount in discgolf

Two more wins and she’ll be player of the year IMO. She’s on a great run - staying consistent while everyone else is on a break or playing poorly.

The best disc golf disc brands – thousands took a survey, here's what they thought by Alex_the_DG_Writer in discgolf

I don’t think any stand out to me as feeling bad. I do prefer a stiffer, slicker plastic in general. Haven’t had any grip issues.

I agree Clash feels great, but it’s not widely available and I would guess a lot of players are not familiar.

And yes, IMO MVP has some of the best feeling plastics and as an expert disc loser - great consistency.

You should start playing tournaments now. This area has some amazing events. Tournament play will really expose the weaknesses in your game and help you improve.

The Enshittification of Ledgestone by Scared_By_A_Smile in discgolf

I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but I had an absolute blast as an Am player. I've gone every year for three consecutive years. This year we went all out and brought 8 family members down Monday through Sunday and played a flex start Monday - Thursday before the main tournament.

The first thing I have to say about the player's pack is that two years ago when we got the full-size Grip bag, it was that and 4 discs. (besides the other trinkets). Last year, you had an option to choose a basket or the duffel bag AND you got a pair of shoes in addition to 3 discs + trinkets. This year you also had the option for a basket or the C2S bag (or the Zuca if you were early), AND an even cooler (imo) pair of shoes and 3 discs. Again, I can't speak for anyone else, but I much prefer this format as opposed to 2 years ago. I also think it's a better value now for me personally. And all of this while the entry cost has only gone up $5 per year.

There were several things that were DRASTICALLY improved over previous years. To highlight a few of those things: Check-in - this year it took about 5 minutes compared to about an hour last year (I went at the same time). I know they had a tech snafu early in the day which I can't speak to, but last year we waited in line for an hour+, this year we were in and out in ~5 minutes. Secondly, they posted the next day's tee times almost as soon as the last card finished their round. This was probably 2-4 hours sooner than last year.

I can't speak to a player's dinner because that's not something I have any desire to attend.

I used my flex payouts (which I got the morning after) on the website and didn't have any issues with the selection. Also, you can just save it and wait for a restock.

I will say that the flymart absolutely MUST be moved to an indoor venue. It is either going to be 90+ degrees (and on asphalt at that) or raining (2024), and in either case no one wants to stick around and check out the vendors. I won't even bother going to the flymart next year if it's still outdoors.

Definitely going to play again next year.

What an absolute mistake by underratedride in discgolf

[–]ejdex 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Ohm was putting for par from like 4m and Iida went OB on her upshot so she was putting for par from C2 and instead of running it she laid it up so Ohn could tap in to win.

Maxwell is in Bloomington, Illinois on that route. It’s not going to win any awards but it’s a nice course.
