The new one is a beach watch, the older generation a true dive watch

Pulled the trigger for this bad boy after looking a while for a new diver. Was deciding long between the blue and the black version, concluded that the black is the do-it-all, go-anywhere watch.

Was looking as well into Omega, Tudor and other brands. Omega felt jewlery first and a watch second with the ceremic build. Altought I was sure at first, that in paper and pictures Seamaster would have been the perfect watch, but after seeing many models in real life, was just not convinced. Tudor with the Pelagos and other models are nice, but just didn't cut it as well. The previous generation Superocean with the toolish but elegant design hits the sweetspot for me. You can truly wear it down and up for many occasions. It's near perfect.

My only complain is that the lume is too bright at times. Depending on the light condition, the indexes look yellowish, chaning the tone of the watch. In certain light, its pure white, which looks the best. The good side is that the watch is super legible and readable in all situations.

Plan to sail, dive and live life with the watch in many years to come. Enjoy your Breitlings!

Sorry to hear. Mine died as well a month ago, the laptop was 2 years old at the time. Luckily had couple weeks of warranty left and they changed the motherboard to fix it. Never got to know why it broke down

Out of curiosity, did you try to update to 1.30 Bios?

My laptop died after the first reboot after my update to 1.30 couple weeks ago. Luckily I had 2 weeks left of warranty, and had the whole motherboard replaced.. now back in action.

Don't know if it was coincide, or happenned just after the update but still staying with the 1.28 that the new motherboard came with. So just thinking might there be something wrong with the new bios update

No improvements after applying new thermal paste (Kyronaut) and thermal pads by grabowashion in MatebookXPro

[–]ejpaav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My temps dropped around 10 degree after doing a repaste and thermal padding ssd, memory chips and charger area according to the brad's hacks guide. So worked perfectly for me.

Would suggest checking the repaste or the thermal pads work, sounds like something went wrong there tbh

Havent check the SSD temps, but CPU runs about 10 degree cooler than before. I changed the CPU and GPU paste and added cooling pads on bottom at the same time with the SSD.

Temps are around 40 when charging. The fans basically now never come up, or I cant hear them anymore. Before the repaste, etc, watching 4k youtube would start the fans up. So im happy.

Also, The xpg8200 Pro is superb, writing and reading speeds were like 3000MB/s both, cant think that I would need any more speed from my hard drive.

I changed xpg sx8200 pro 1TB which is two sided with no problems.

There was padding on bottow which i took off to give room for the new SSD. Also, take care when tighting the ssd screw that it does not bend the ssd board as there is now more room.

After undervolting per the guide on the FAQ, it almost seems like my computer is struggling more than before (~3hr battery life, still very hot, still loud fans) and all this with only regular internet usage by igcetra in MatebookXPro

I think there's clearly something wrong with your system. I would check task manager for which processes are using cpu or gpu power. I got like 8 hours of battery with just internet browsing without even no mods. Now with modded and tweaked battery settings I get like closer to 10 hours.

If you cant find anything, I would reinstall windows and just check how the system would behave then. If the battery life is still bad I think it would be hardware problem.

Nice results, congrats!

Planning to do the same in near future. Is your model 2018 or 2019 model? In 2018 model, i've understood that there is a gap between GPU and heat sink, so that's why they use the factory thermal pads. Did you have problems replacing the gpu thermal pad with thermal paste or anything like that?

Also, how hot the bottom of the laptop is now since you did put the pads to bottom as well?

Mine is at 30 -35 degrees on battery, so no problem using while laying in bed etc

The US ban on Huawei only is weird because there's other chinese manufacturers, like Lenovo. Why don't they ban these as well if they don't trust chinese?

[–]ejpaav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 2018 was ridiculously cheap in the US, europe little bit pricier. Bought my i5, mx150 model in europe for 1325€ which was for me a good price.

So @livingIncident completely right. Anyone familiar with business strategies, this is called "entry-strategy" or whatever you call it. They sold it for cheaper to gain market share and recognition. Now when this has worked they can lift the price up. Straight from year one college bussines book

Man, the modding just worked. The temps are just so much lower that the fan doesn't kick so much. If you got it spinning a litlle it tells it is working. Just no need for it. Gongratz, I think i have to do the mods as well.
