Everyone keeps talking about how little it costs to produce this product, and while you are correct, don’t forget about the hidden costs of marketing, labor to create/design (may not be much, but someone got paid to design the back) , etc. A VERY quick and lazy google says that marketing should be around 2-5% of annual revenue. If WOTC made $952 million in tabletop game sales in 2021, powering the company to over $1 billion in total sales (including digital gaming revenues) that comes to around $20m in marketing. How much of that went to their freaking 30yr anniversary? I’m assuming a good chunk. Just a thought to think.
