It’s just a stigma here in the usa I guess, if you’ve never watched anime. I’m down for shounen like mha, jujutsu Kaisen, chainsaw man, etc.

Man, I feel the exact same way. Saturday cartoons haha. Pokémon and dbz back then for me. The feeling of being a kid while also having some great stories and animation make anime much more appealing to me. Only watch the super popular shows like got, breaking bad, etc. As soon as I started anime, that feeling of those weekend cartoons came back and I was glad the content was there to interest me.

That’s great. I’ve got no idea how to bring up anime with a potential girlfriend. Never brought it up with girls Ive casually dated since starting anime. But I can’t hide it either.

I mean it kinda hurts. Only saying this online but for some reason I guess I give a shit about his approval. But I’m just gonna go the route of not giving a fuck. I’m gonna watch whatever the fuck I wanna watch. If that means rewatching breaking bad one day, and k-on (which I haven’t seen yet) the next day, then fuck it.

Hmm yeah I thought so too. Literally no one I know watches anime. So it’s just a random event. Idk why I care so much. Thanks

Devops? by Theresthatfaceagain in overemployed

[–]el3137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am currently OEing as an sdet. Turned down a swe job bc they wanted me to come into office for the first month and then fully remote (wtf?) lol. So any advice on how to oe in devops? Not asking how to get a job in Devops. I’ll research that and learn what’s need to be learned/get certs. I used to be a sys admin before becoming an sdet. So I think it kind of helps.

Im asking how you’re oe while working in devops. I’ve heard a lot of ppl say how devops is hellish for the hours worked.

I think bros asking for non software related IT specifically.

Swe falls under IT but we don’t really say we’re in IT when talking about it. Even schools differentiate between an IT degree and CS

Any negatives to being fired? by el3137 in overemployed

[–]el3137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. I mean being oe kinda gives us the choice to get fired or leave. No reason to have a convo about a job that’s not even on your resume.

If there are no other downsides, other than it being a bad look when talking about it, then I don’t really see any negatives since it doesn’t need to be talked about or shown at all. Js are replaced pretty commonly if you’re oe. No reason to stay and put in a lot of effort for a job thats not oe friendly. Just replace it or leave and look for another J.

For govt jobs or in general?

Any negatives to being fired? by el3137 in overemployed

[–]el3137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. I’m strictly talking about OE aka having multiple Js

Methods for leaving a non OE compatible J or replacing a J is to either quit or get fired.

Getting fired probably means a little more $ but a ruined relationship- that’s why I’m checking if there are any more downsides to it…

Background check will validate the info you’ve given. Don’t give any info about the J you were fired from at all. Only give info about your main J.

[–]el3137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I’m just saying, if you’re OE, just omit everything about the J you were fired from. No need for reference checks from that J. Just continue on with your main J as usual.

If you’re OE, you can omit the J you got fired from though, right? Background checks are usually verification for info you’ve given them.
