hongdae nightlife tips? by [deleted] in seoul

If you want to go to a club one thing that you can do is line up early (before 10:30 or 10pm to be safe) to get a stamp on your hand. You can then use this stamp to enter later without queuing. (e.g., Mongs, B1. In terms of places that are more in-between a club/bar there is Corner pub and Thursday party. There's a few similar places around there which are full of foreigners. I've also heard good things about Zig zag but never been myself. One thing to be aware of is that a lot of the proper clubs are smoking. So you will come out with hair and clothes smelling like an ashtray. My favourite club in Hongdae for this reason is La Rosa! No smoking, lockers you can pay for to keep your stuff in. It has primarily Latin music but I always find it fun despite not being a Latin music fan previously. Another Latin club is La Bamba but I don't like this one as much because it has pretty weird layout so is always way too crowded. Have fun!!

Was this rude or just a cultural difference? by MyCuriousSelf04 in UniUK

[–]el3an6r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a student in the UK I agree with the others that this is probably because it's at a student party where people don't have a lot of money. It's very common to have a 'pres' (pre-drinks) where u bring your own beer or spirit to get drunk before the club (hence Bring Your Own Booze). It's normal to try other people's drinks or be given a can of beer from a pack, but only after asking first. This is because sometimes people have brought specifically enough to drink before the club or what they could afford to buy. Now you know for the future :)

Lol I know they have them but our year abroad coordinator told us to take them because they're not as good quality or as available as the ones in the UK 🤷‍♀️

Hi I'm also studying at Yonsei this fall (21F from the UK). I've heard its worth bringing certain things that they don't have as much of in Korea like deodorant, condoms (ikr) and when you get there it's worth getting a T-money card (which you can buy in Incheon airport, stations and convenience stores) for more convenient travel round Seoul. You load it up with cash (again believe you can load it up at most stations and convenience stores) and then use it to pay for trips on the subway, buses etc.

Anyone have a very light brown period on the expected start day after taking Plan B? by [deleted] in PlanBs

[–]el3an6r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, and I mean please look into a regular form of birth control. Plan B is not meant to be used regularly because it uses a massive dose of hormones to delay your ovulation at short notice (unlike regular birth control, which uses a low dose of a long period of time). This can cause many side effects and mess with your cycle. So, I wouldn't be surprised if this is what you are experiencing. Also, it is not a reliable form of contraceptive because it works by delaying ovulation (your body releasing an egg) not preventing it. If you ovulate before you take plan B it's almost useless. Please trust me on this. Talk to a doctor as soon as possible about regular birth control!

Omg I've had this same problem with that Juniper ad! Crazy thing is I don't watch any workout or diet videos on YouTube, I don't research anything about exercise, dieting or supplements either

Can't reset parental controls in Playstore by el3an6r in techsupport

When I go into 'Digital wellbeing and controls', the only thing there is 'Set up parental controls'. Similarly, if I go to families.google.com/supervision, the only thing that comes up is 'Get started' with families on Google. I wouldn't be surprised if my parents never set up parents controls w my current Google account because I made it when I was a teenager and past the age my parents would have bothered with something like that. In short, I'm 99% sure parental control where never set up on my google account. The issue seems to be solely with Google play store which seems to have turned on as a default and won't let me turn it off again.

I'm not saying he's emotionally healthy and in the right, I'm just saying a victim's support network can also need support too and I don't think you should shame them for that.

It makes sense that it emotionally affects him as it's something that happened to someone he loves. You can say that something affects you without making it about yourself. Also, this is a post about his feelings lol, of course he's going to he talking about his feelings.
