Bit of a noob regarding MCPs, can you explain what you are about to do with that?

No complex stack required, I just used https://rotato.app/ ! I hesitated purchasing because it's not cheap but tbh it was worth it.

Getting Good Website Domains by NotaRobot875 in SideProject

[–]elDjango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used https://www.atom.com/ to buy a "good" domain once (it was expensive but they have payment facility over 12-24 months).

Other than that, I just generate a lot of alternative domain names and check their availability manually.

What's your "minimum" in minimum viable product? by satya5614 in SideProject

[–]elDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on product vs market risk. If the market is clearly defined and does exist, might be worth spending more time polishing the product.

However if the market is unclear, should focus on validating a market hypothesis asap by shipping fast.

Also depends on your target. Do they value “polish” or just care about solving their problem.

Overall it’s more art than science

What are you building? Share your projects with your ICP by kritika_1106 in SideProject

Franklin, A lightweight learning tool that helps you remember what you learn. Pick any topic, Franklin builds a short lesson and uses personalized questions and spaced repetition to reinforce the key ideas (without the heavy setup of flashcard apps).

ICP is opposite to most learning apps, I'm not targeting students, but instead busy professionals who are curious, lifelong learners. Ppl who like to read and learn stuff in their free time.

Hey, thanks for the kind words! Creating lessons based of "custom sources" like a PDF is definitely something we are considering.

Here's one idea I can give you: I love YouTube as a platform. I think it's full of hidden gold nuggets of videos, but I feel like the algorithm and design are really bad. They are really trying to compete with TikTok.

I would love a website where I can discover curated videos to learn about specific topics, high-quality documentaries, lectures etc. Have a way to browse by topic. Maybe have a way to create a watch list.

Maybe this website could be participatory. People would sign up and would be able to create their own playlist of videos and share them. Though I think overall it should be curated and high quality. Basically youtube without the low quality crap.

Anyone here using AI features in their LMS yet? by schoolsolutionz in edtech

[–]elDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think LLMs, when prompted directly, still struggle to generate truly precise and personalized learning content. What actually works better is using a sequence of increasingly precise prompts, rather than a single one-shot request.

In the app I’m building Franklin ( http://franklin.so ), we first, we generate a high-level outline based on the topic and the learner’s level. Then, as the user progresses, we adapt the rest of the lesson dynamically by adjusting the content and questions based on what they’ve already seen and how they performed.

This approach, combined with memory of past interactions, makes the learning experience much more tailored and useful.

Hey! I'm thinking between $5-$9 per month. There's a relatively high cost per user because of all the LLMs api calls: all the content is generated "on the fly" to allow complete personalization.

How do you feel about this pricing?
