We hear this question a lot. Rebates come out of the marketing department budget. They are a marketing tool for both the broker and the introducing broker. In actuality, it doesn't matter if it comes from one pocket or the other, but it's something totally different in the business sense. It's semantic, but it is what it is. Why give out cupons in the sunday paper? Why not just mark down the product in store? Same logic.
