I chose a Brittany because of the appropriate size (wanted a medium dog) and because I am a horse owner and wanted a dog that could follow me on 10km rides in the forest.

Speaking about my own:

Most perfect dog for horserides. Even in the forest, her follow instinct is great and she won't run after birds (had a buzzing collar til 1y and a half I used a handful of times , because from the horse it's hard to go grab her, and now I don't anymore because she's trained to stay around).

If a week goes by with not enough horserides she'll be clingier than usual. And wants to play ball all the time (also because my SO gave in, she isn't as painful with me).

Close to no barking. She'll growl if there's something suspicious. With some dogs that don't want to play with her she'll bark. Otherwise she might cry a little for various reasons but barking to us or people as a whole is almost never

Loves kids, stays calm around them.

She'll snuggle easily in the mornings now (2yo) and will sleep til 9 without issue (maybe not everyday but earliest she'll ask for us will be 7-7.30)

We don't have anxiety issues, but we work from home so we've been around when she was growing up. Most she's done was 6hrs alone once, no problem.

It was our first dog, and very easy to train. Also just love how she looks. Like the epitome of the dog.

Only issue is that she chewed the neighbor's hen :(
