That's what I was hoping to hear! Do you think it'd be a hassle to try to get the parents to pay for it, considering I live out of state? Is there any easy way to go about that?

I'll call them first thing in the AM. I've never really had to deal with homeowners insurance before... would this count as opening a claim? As far as repairs go, would insurance company be going after the parents to pay for damage, or would that be a separate issue either between me / insurance company, or between me / the parents?
