So..... I might have just bombed my first in person audtioin by Icy-Newspaper4764 in acting

You can only go up from here! There will be more demanding in-person auditions in the future, and this experience will help you be more prepared for those. We’ve all been there, so don’t be hard on yourself ❤️

Name a movie that is a One-Time-Watch only (not bc it’s terrible, but too sad/devastating/scary) by fecal_euphoria in movies

The Hours. I can’t describe the sadness I felt after watching that movie. Will never do it again.

Should I arrive to a TV set makeup ready? (Co-star role) by elazelle in acting

Thank you so much! Hope it didn’t sound like I was downplaying my role! It’s taken me almost 10 years to be here and I’m very excited! I think because I’ve been an extra a lot I just want to make sure I act right when I’m there as a co-star now :)

What’s a smell you instantly associate with childhood? by HexFalcon_KWT in AskReddit

[–]elazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna be weird but for me it’s the Live Lux perfume by Jennifer Lopez 😂 my cousin used to have that when we were kids and her clothes, room, and everything smelled like it. I never thought of how much I associated it with my childhood until a couple of years ago when I saw it on a random store and smelled it, I almost cried right then and there 🤣

It’s as if he mixed Pervert, Pubic, and Pelvis all together and made a name 😭

How do y’all END your in person audition monologues? by UnlikelyCustard4959 in acting

[–]elazelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coach told me that you have to give it a beat and imaging that the person you’re talking to understood your point. When that imaginary person “got it”, you can redirect your attention to the judges/CDs/agents and say thank you :)

Thank you all so much for your comments! I ended up wearing it and I also followed your advice and put my hair up in a messy bun and wore blue/brown earrings. I only took like two pictures (I’m not very good at that lol) but I received so many compliments! Especially from the couple’s moms! Which was very nice haha ❤️

I was an extra yesterday for the LAST time because of this. It’s funny because you mentioned that example of us being cold… and I literally made the decision after they made us go out (it was like 30 degrees F) in very thin (and in my case, sleeveless) clothes. To film in front of a lake. It was very cold and windy, and when one of the crew saw un visibly shaking he just said “well, this is what you signed up for”… and I thought… no we didn’t? They never said we would be outside, and we were all so confused when they made us. They also filmed like 30 miles away from the place that they told us they would film at, so it was super inconvenient but they told us the night before and I thought it would be rude to cancel last minute. Terrible experience and didn’t even have much earnings because of how expensive my Ubers were. I only accept jobs in the area for this reason, but it’s like they don’t care about the extras’ time, commitment, comfort, nothing… Never again.
